She was so talented. I live in the area where she grew up and have seen her a few times over the years, it's silly but I feel I knew her. I read her book last year and was surprised I thought it would be all drama and 'poor me' but it's not at all, it's actually a very good read. She was troubled for sure, but so talented, truly one of a kind. May she rip.

I have sadly known friends who have died in their 50s for so many reasons . The cause of death is irrelevant. Just very sad for whatever happened.

This has made me surprisingly sad. I think it's because she always sounded so haunted and had so much sadness and I just wanted something good for her. She always seemed so vulnerable yet so real.

Poor, wonderful Sinead. Her fierce political strength got her through the worst of times but I remember the horror of the loss of her son - RIP Sinead 💙

This is very sad. She was a talented artist and a troubled soul. A lot of what she said upset a lot of people, but she shone a light on some very disturbing shit, and good on her for that. she stuck the middle finger up at the Catholic church and good on her!

I remember seeing her on The Late Late Show on RTE in Ireland years ago with Gay Byrne and she was totally petrified and it was so obvious and he was lovely with her. And then she sang. Totally beautiful.

As so many have said she was a tortured soul.

RIP Sinead. You were definitely too good for this kip. At a time when so many young Irish women were struggling with living under Catholic dogma and starting to question you were a beacon.
