BBC Presenter and yet more allegations

It would appear that the front page of tomorrow’s The Sun has further allegations about messages with a new 17 year old. Creepy hearts etc

Scrolling through Sky news and seeing front pages of the papers. This appears bottom right on The Sun front page.

I don't know when they did. I am assuming that the reason they felt the need to lie about their age to register on that website to earn some money, so thought they were already taking drugs and needed money.

@Caramelatt pretty sure it hasn't been confirmed the young person met the presenter on onlyfans. I assume that's yet another line put out by the apologists to shift some of the blame on to the young person!

So to all the posters saying nothing illegal was done so no harm done, no shame, no blame, I have a question.

If this is the case then why doesn't the presenter come forward and say that?

I have a problem with anyone in the public eye who tries an age gap relationship with someone in their early twenties or teens. Male or female.

It's so ill advised and stupid it's untrue.

There's a lot of people with far too high a tolerance for this stuff.

Ps got his name dragged in the news for weeks and his life ruined so why not name this person ?

Because PS came out as gay and this presenter hasn't. It's a privacy issue regarding divulging someone's sexual preferences.

Great comment, the public are being played for fools and sadly it seems to be working in certain quarters. Meanwhile the former PM who was in charge of the country when it faced its worse crisis since the second world war is in contempt of court and there are currently 16, yes 16 MPs suspended from the House of Commons and being investigated for various allegations. Oh and what about George Osbourne and the allegations about sex with a 16 year female (he was 49 at the time) who was too drunk to stand. All this has vanished from the front pages as rumours and counter rumours circulate. We have the most corrupt government in living memory and possibly in history but we also have the likes of Murdoch who, like some grotesque puppet master controls the media agenda in this country.

Well I do as well @RedToothBrush Add to that deception and secrecy when in a married relationship with a family. There's now loss of honesty, professionalism and accountability.

There's a video doing the rounds on Twitter that has the male person under scrutiny advising secondary school children who wish to go into journalism on how to approach it. Interesting viewing.

Afaik PS wasn't named during the original ITV investigation. He was in the press anyway when giving evidence at the trial of his brother and then got sacked by ITV. Not sure why people who are accused of stuff in the papers should be named when even people who are arrested have a right to privacy.

There is no proof that a young person lied about their age to register on a website. That's another part of the abuse apologists' disinformation campaign.

Someone who worked for OF stated OF manage all the payments. Both young person 1's parents and young person 3 said the presenter made payments direct to them. Not from OF. Young person 4 said they were contacted through instagram - which has an age limit of 13 - so they didn't lie about their age either.

As for GO, he reported the email to the police and announced he had done so. That meant the media could cover it. It has been covered in all the MSM including Sky News, the Mirror, the Telegraph, etc. Maybe the posters mentioning don't realise how MN works. PS ruined his own life. By his own admission he had an inappropriate relationship and then lied about it. It constituted gross misconduct. He did do wrong.

I feel the same about this story as the PS one. It's not cool. It's not the homosexual aspect. It's the fact there's a man in a position of prestige doing this. The BBC has a reputation based on trust and respectability. This guy screws that with his action. It affects all his colleagues.

And that's without ANY criminal element to what's happened.

Trust still matters. The PS case also demonstrates that the public don't mind someone coming out. The objectionable bit is the lies etc.

As for comments about George Osborne. I think if any of rumours are true it's awful really awful.

And for Macron I think that's not cool too.

PS had already come out. He also confirmed the story about the runner (when the runner refused to lie to the lawyers about the relationship). It's an entirely different situation.
It's also partly why others are encouraging the BBC presenter to identify themself. They think it will lift the burden of deceit and allow them to put forward their side. The clever PR move would be for the presenter to release a mea culpa statement using all the handy apologist excuses from this thread and say they have apologised to their family (if they have one) and they are going to co-operate fully with the BBC and the police - and they're going to rehab/the priory/insert suitable place for support.
But according to a BBC interview yesterday, the BBC presenter is very angry - so he's not at the introspective/taking responsibility stage yet. The longer it takes him to get there; the longer the story will rumble on - and the more disinformation will be spread.

Has any crime been committed? I’m so sick of hearing this.

I was dating a 26 year old age 17. And I stayed friends with him for over 20 years.

But that makes me even more dubious of relationships which have bigger age gaps because of that experience.

It wasn't equal. And any bigger and it would have been really creepy.

Come on now, I’m a 30 something mum sat at home who has experienced her own fair share of shitty male behaviour. Monstering people at the smallest sign of anything will only end up rebounding on you one day.
