BBC Presenter and yet more allegations

1000 replies

friendlycat · 11/07/2023 23:28

It would appear that the front page of tomorrow’s The Sun has further allegations about messages with a new 17 year old. Creepy hearts etc

Scrolling through Sky news and seeing front pages of the papers. This appears bottom right on The Sun front page.

@WhisperingAutistic

Please be careful about hinting. Our last thread was deleted. We're all managing not to hint, even though it is obvious who it is.

Tink51971 · 12/07/2023 11:46

What about the other male presenter who is named on t***, granted not as much as the other one, this person is also in the top 6 of biggest pay rises.

Just thought I would throw a curve ball in there, I do t know if they are still presenting though, as to be honest ihad never heard of them before all this happened.

I truly hope that this thread has been infiltrated by MRAs like a previous poster suggested. They do tend to target these type of discussions...normally going on 'trigger warning' threads desperately trying to convince women the abuse they've described is no big deal.

I truly hope that's what is happening here. MRAs being apologist arseholes I can deal with, but women/mothers? Depressing.

I've seen that too - and on many occasions.

Been trailed around this site, from thread to thread, for daring to be vocal about my abuse at the hands of men, and refusing to shut up about it. Silence is the weapon they depend upon. The upshot is this makes me a 'man hater'.

That particular member has received a ban from this site.

I think a lot are MRAs, but this is not exclusively the case. Cf. the disparaging references to 'LTB is always the first response!', which found its nth degree in a bizarre suggestion that nasty, cat-loving, embittered, lonely hags deliberately jump on abuse threads and urge the poster to leave her abusive relationship - because apparently destroying other people's relationships is their hobby. The latter barmy accusation I spotted just this week.

FFS.

Countdowntowinter · 12/07/2023 11:57

If people remember Jimmy Savile. It was all hushed up. There were complaints over the years and to the police as well and yet it was hushed up, covered over, nothing to see here.

Then a couple of victims came forward and the floodgates opened and people started to say they were a victim as well.

I'm not suggesting that the BBC presenter is like Saville but maybe that's why others have come forward since the first person has? Or maybe he is innocent and it is all made up. The main thing is that it is properly investigated by Police and the BBC and not brushed to one side or covered up as Saville and Schofield and others have been in the past.

IClaudine · 12/07/2023 11:58

Plbrookes · 12/07/2023 11:26

And if they'd done more investigation you'd have said they were sitting on it. One of the characteristics of conspiracy theories - any possible events are seen as supporting it.

The press don't just release stories as and when. That is not a conspiracy theory.

DoNotUnderstandWhy · 12/07/2023 11:59

Why can't the papers leave that poor, powerful, influential, rich man alone? He should be able to solicit teenagers for sexual images in exchange for cash to fund their drug habits in the privacy of his own home if he wants to.

What business is it of ours if he attempts to groom or coerce a drug addict who's technically over the age of consent??

I'm sure he only sent threatening and abusive text messages when he felt his behaviours might get unfairly exposed. Which us fair enough IMO.

It's those teenagers' faults for being sexy crackheads. If their parents had brought them up right, none of this would've happened.

pintery · 12/07/2023 12:01

Forgive my ignorance but what is an MRA?

Whoever it is, if the screenshot is genuine, had a very short forename...

Does the person in question have severe depression? Possibly even bipolar depression? Because it does result in risktaking behaviours, impulsive decisions with little thought for the consequences. Was wondering if he was reluctant to go public with that info as BPD is seen as a mental health disorder.

Bipolar disorder is not, "seen as" a MH disorder, it IS a severe MH illness, a disability and a protected characteristic under The Equality Act. This man has been reckless, selfish & unfaithful getting involved with a drug addicted young adult who supplied explicit photos to him. Apart from the other party being 17 at the start of photo exchange three has been no crime. How about examining the content of the email sent regarding ex Chancellor & his liaisons with inebriated just turned 16 girls in toilets. That IS A CRIME.....

The press don't just release stories as and when. That is not a conspiracy theory.

So whenever it was published it would confirm your suspicions. Hypotheses seem very convincing when any possible evidence is taken as confirmatory.

Willyoujustbequiet · 12/07/2023 11:39

For days now on numerous threads there has been all sorts of excuses made. On a parenting site some posters have been determined to victim blame and refuse to acknowledge predatory behaviour/grooming.

No wonder the rape conviction rate is so appalling.

Like what, specifically? Can you even say?

Sweetashunni · 12/07/2023 12:06

Lacucuracha · 12/07/2023 11:41

From the first page alone:

Does the person in question have severe depression? Possibly even bipolar depression? Because it does result in risktaking behaviours, impulsive decisions with little thought for the consequences. Was wondering if he was reluctant to go public with that info as BPD is seen as a mental health disorder.

The alleged person has spoken openly about suffering severe depression over the last 20 years

Does this person deserve to have their life ruined? If it is who we think it is, it's been documented that they've had severe depression in the past. I should think after this they'll be a suicide risk. That would be awful.

So fucking what he sent some emojis to someone.

So what? On every thread on here, ASD or even dementia is suggested as an ‘excuse’ for someone’s behaviour, either you’re mentally unwell or you’re not.

So APART from the possible creation, sale and use of child pornography there has been no crime... 🙄

notanicepersonapparently · 12/07/2023 12:12

And even if it’s not a crime it’s grim behaviour. There used to be such as thing as standards in public life where people were supposed to be role models.

There is a very interesting article from last year, a Telegraph Journo's first article was printed. It was crtisicising 'an area' of the UK's approach to Covid and extended lockdowns.

The article was not read, just re-tweeted with a scathing comment to online followers of this person. The young female journalist, proud of her first artilce, then had threats of rape and assault in her inbox. An abuse of power? Surley not...

Oh word, yes I had forgotten about that. Mr BBC presenter retweeted it with a rather nasty comment.

Imnotswallowingthat · 12/07/2023 12:13

I think a lot of people have misunderstood the point of the original complaint by the person’s parents. They are not really complaining about the sexual aspect. Their main gripe is that the man knew this person was a crack addict and was facilitating it even after being asked to stop sending funds to him. This gave the man a level of control over the young person.

lemmein · 12/07/2023 12:13

LaDeeDa123 · 12/07/2023 11:21

@Caramelatt how do you know when this young person became addicted to crack? It could have been in the past few months. Don’t let your ignorance get in the way of blaming a mother though…

That last lime was unnecessary but hope it gave you some sense of satisfaction.

I don't know when they did. I am assuming that the reason they felt the need to lie about their age to register on that website to earn some money, so thought they were already taking drugs and needed money.

Thank you for this explanation I was starting to feel a bit sick at some of the posts and doubting myself but this makes sense of it. Similar is cropping up on another forum just recently started to creep in but old members have got the measure of them. Even so they are clever with their words

An accusation against Osbourne doesn't negate this situation.

I would definitely support a closer look at that but so far the email sender is anonymous, no formerly 16 year old girls have come forward to the police or press and neither have parents, friends or relatives of the alleged girls.

So at the moment there's much less to go on than this situation even though the alleged wrongdoing is of a more serious and potential criminal nature.

Believe me @Caramelatt I get zero satisfaction from having to respond to people like you.
