I'll kick it off with:-

Putting your bra on after a shower - I always put it on back to front and twist it round the right way. I need to apply WD40 to my back and chest as it just won't twist!!

Getting the damned duvet into the damned duvet cover!! Makes me 🤬 every time!!

How about you??

Re the bra after the shower problem, yes that was me too. UNTIL I discovered that if I put my knickers on, and put the bra around them instead of around my back, then the bra turns around like magic, then pull it up the right way round. The knickers are dry, your skin is not fully, and this works. Especially handy when in a hot country....

I really don't get this. I put my bra on every morning after a shower and just put it on the normal way - i.e. put it on the right way and fasten the back.

Also doing up my Pandora bracelet. I nearly get it then it slips and the charms at the end of the bracelet fall off and scatter under the furthest reaches of my furniture. Grrrr!!!

You can get pandora locking charm things that stop the charms falling off.

It's utterly exhausting and frustrating!
I totally sympathize with you.
I did finally decide to talk to about it and I now take a prescription sleep aid.
I endured that for about 13 years and I couldn't handle it anymore.

Good luck to you that you can start getting decent rest again, and soon!

talked to my doctor

SeaToSki · 09/07/2023 23:43

For the falling asleep people, try calcium supplements (assuming you are already using magnesium supplements or spray)

Ilovelblue · 09/07/2023 23:45

Altering the clock on my cooker when the clocks go forward or back. I swear you need a degree in astrophysics to get it to work first time!

squashyhat · 09/07/2023 23:45

Reversing into a parking space. I use my mirrors, I don't rely on the cars either side, I straighten the steering wheel, I get out thinking "ooh, good one this time" and my car is at a 45 degree angle across the space. HOW?

Going to sleep its should be like eating im hungry eat food = no longer hungry but NO! I'm tired = hours of tossing and turning followed by random remedy searches followed by sleepless nights infinite warm milk magnesium sprays butters lotions supplements a trip to the Dr's who talks about sleep hygiene (so being bored and awake) then should I EVENTUALLY manage to achieve sleep!

I wake up tired

I'll swap you. I'm tired = I fall asleep immediately.
I'm hungry = I eat. Still hungry. Eat more. Still peckish. Eat more. No off button.

I did that and nearly went over the bannister with it!

at least you'd have had a soft landing!

TheFrenchLieutenantsMonkey · 09/07/2023 23:47

Honestly the roll method for duvets is amazing for big duvets (we have a super king it's bloody massive and the winter one is heavy too!)

Wow, so evolution gave us the hourglass figure to make putting bras on more straightforward.

Peeling a boiled egg without half of the egg coming with the shell

charabang · 10/07/2023 06:28

Trying to put two electric meter readings into the British Gas app when you have Economy 7. Took me minths to sort last year and now they've changed apps so I have to go through the whole thing again. ( I can't have smart meters due to location of meters)

Flies can be frozen with hairspray and hovered.

Ugh. I hate the knee-jerk impulse to kill a living creature.

Crabacus · 10/07/2023 07:10

Even easier and less wasteful than the baking parchment - silicone baking mats https://amzn.eu/d/7JcCvKp
just rinse them clean.

and to easily peel a boiled egg, tap it all over on the work surface before peeling so the shell is cracked all over and it will just peel off.

For the boiled eggs I find it easier to roll them on the chopping board with a little pressure :)

Cars 2 storyline. I cant follow it!

Oh my god yes! What is going on in that film?!

Burping. I cannot. I wish I could.

My DH can't either. He was listening to a podcast a while ago and it's to do with the oesophogal sphincter spasming. You can have an injection in it (possibly Botox) and that sorts it out, apparently. He won't get it done as he says he's coped alright for the last 40 years.

I stand on the bed to shake it out.

Phoning DWP about a relatives PIP.
2 hrs of my life I won't get back and the 😤 after being cut off no less than 6 times I'm the process! 😖

In-laws.

LittleMrsPretty · 09/07/2023 21:38

Do you turn the douvet cover inside out and then reach inside and find the corners, then match the corners with the douvet and give it a big shake, it practically falls into place?

I honestly thought that was just the way it is done. I know you could do it other ways obviously but why would you as they're dp hard compared to this!

Nannyfannybanny · 10/07/2023 08:08

I love this thread. Who uses hairspray? Just get a needle threader (Hobbycraft!) Duvet cover, and over the Bannisters....I live in a bungalow. Butter,I leave a portion out of the fridge, ready for my use. Someone suggested recently on another forum, you should use "neat" vodka for insect pests on citrus....it would be cheaper to buy new shrubs!

CrunchyCarrot · 10/07/2023 08:11

I have a Zyliss tin opener - wonderful thing! Have had it for nearly 20 years, still works like new. Probably don't make that model now, but check out the brand.

Putting thread through a needle.

You need a needle threader.

Absolutely this. You can buy a pack from amazon for a few pounds.
