I'll kick it off with:-

Putting your bra on after a shower - I always put it on back to front and twist it round the right way. I need to apply WD40 to my back and chest as it just won't twist!!

Getting the damned duvet into the damned duvet cover!! Makes me 🤬 every time!!

How about you??

Telling your Left from your Right instantly. I have a serious mental block when it comes to this.

Wear a thumb ring on your left hand if your right handed and on your right if your left handed it should job your brain

CanIbeRio · 09/07/2023 23:04

@Surely2023IsTheYearForMyRainbowBaby Thank you for that. Will give it a go 🙂

CanIbeRio · 09/07/2023 23:06

Re the duvet cover, have you tried turning the cover inside out, grabbing the corners from the inside, and shaking it out over the bannister?

Genius!

Life changing. Coverless duvets. Stick the whole thing in the washing machine.

Yout welcome OP.

I have these for the kids beds but there’s no way I’d use them on mine, they don’t feel as soft as my nice bedding and the single size doesn’t actually wash that well in my 9kg washer, I didn’t realise how bad until my daughter threw up in hers and when I washed it there was so many parts that were still bit wet and covered in sick 🤢 had to keep turning it different ways and rewashing it!

Doing up buttons with long nails,

Doing up buttons on a toddler 🤣

IWasFunBeforeMum · 09/07/2023 23:10

Getting a bloody tent back in its bag. In the rain.

AllotmentTime · 09/07/2023 23:10

Burping. I cannot. I wish I could.

Enko · 09/07/2023 23:12

Changing the strap on my samsung watch.

It "should" be turn this little metal thing and out it goes. Can I get the freaking thing to turn???

LightDrizzle · 09/07/2023 23:12

Keykat · 09/07/2023 22:41

Re the bra after the shower problem, yes that was me too. UNTIL I discovered that if I put my knickers on, and put the bra around them instead of around my back, then the bra turns around like magic, then pull it up the right way round. The knickers are dry, your skin is not fully, and this works. Especially handy when in a hot country....

Fucking genius!
you’ve changed my life.

Getting any of my collection of tin openers to do their job. Ring pull tins of beans are my go-to now, but with the CoL as it is I would like to open a regular tin without the kitchen resembling a murder scene. Anyone else find tin openers just aren't cutting it!!!

Have you tried the OXO one?

CanIbeRio · 09/07/2023 23:16

Also doing up my Pandora bracelet. I nearly get it then it slips and the charms at the end of the bracelet fall off and scatter under the furthest reaches of my furniture. Grrrr!!!

happyinherts · 09/07/2023 23:16

No @BaroldBalonz I haven't. I'll investigate that one - add to the collection! Thanks.

Going to sleep its should be like eating im hungry eat food = no longer hungry but NO! I'm tired = hours of tossing and turning followed by random remedy searches followed by sleepless nights infinite warm milk magnesium sprays butters lotions supplements a trip to the Dr's who talks about sleep hygiene (so being bored and awake) then should I EVENTUALLY manage to achieve sleep!

I wake up tired

It's utterly exhausting and frustrating!
I totally sympathize with you.
I did finally decide to talk to about it and I now take a prescription sleep aid.
I endured that for about 13 years and I couldn't handle it anymore.

Good luck to you that you can start getting decent rest again, and soon!

Stravaig · 09/07/2023 23:17

How to fold a fitted sheet.
Showed my Mum how to do this earlier today! It involves neatly stacking all the corners on top of each other. Or only buy flat sheets, which is what I do :)

Magssss · 09/07/2023 23:18

Getting through telephone banking security questions. Don’t have a clue what my memorable word I created 5 years ago is

1vandal2 · 09/07/2023 23:19

The only can openers that don't break are the magic can ones with the white plastic handle

DesparatePragmatist · 09/07/2023 23:21

Eating a healthy amount of food which keeps me at a stable weight. Surely this should just be a natural default not a massive exercise of will and planning

baxterbee · 09/07/2023 23:21

rainingoutsideagain · 09/07/2023 21:44

Getting butter to spread straight from the fridge regardless of how many times I rapidly scrape it and put it back in the container, repeat and just when I think I've softened it enough it still tears up the bread!

Putting thread through a needle.

@rainingoutsideagain

Use a spoon- not a knife! Seen this online somewhere and it's amazing and doesn't tear your bread :)

Wallywobbles · 09/07/2023 23:30

Flies can be frozen with hairspray and hovered.

lastchancesalmon · 09/07/2023 23:31

Maybe too simplistic for some significant sleep problems but apparently you can't fall asleep if your jaw is tensed and the best way to relax your jaw is to make sure your tongue is down in your mouth rather that up against the roof of your mouth. (If you are tense or stressed, that's where it'll be). So focus on dropping your tongue and relaxing your jaw when trying to sleep. It often (not always, but often) works for me. I also find ambient sounds eg rain or waves played by Alexa helps

Justleaveitblankthen · 09/07/2023 23:31

To the OP: Get ye back to the 70's with lashings of talc. 😀
Imperial leather or cuticura for a real blast from the past.
