JeandeServiette · 08/07/2023 23:54

Could we PLEASE have a thread that stays up?

Meaning don't name anyone, or any programme or ask for initials or hint.

I just would like to discuss how this is likely to unfold.

the star is not accused of making the images or distributing them. That’s not the accusation, and If this was only fans and she claimed to be 18 as you need to be for an account, then he’s done what every other person using that god awful site does, you pay for further images. There is no police investigation , which tells you something , it wasn’t illegal or perceived to be illegal.

The star solicited images which is just as serious

Willmafrockfit · 09/07/2023 10:39

perhaps there is no police investigation because the 20 year old has not reported it, it is their parents doing the reporting

Sunnyfunnytimes · 09/07/2023 10:39

hamstersarse · 09/07/2023 10:33

I don’t understand why it’s not possible for the BBC to release a statement and be open and transparent about who is under investigation. They don’t seem to have such morals when describing cases when others are involved. See Cliff Richard. Or Andrew and Tristan Tate - who they refer to as ‘human traffickers and rapists’ despite no convictions.

Because innocent until proven guilty and this could be a Grey area if a young woman offering explicit images on only fans for money, where you need to be 18. Disgusting and career ending, yes. Illegal. No.

SadKendall · 09/07/2023 10:39

Willmafrockfit · 09/07/2023 10:22

what is the tattle thread? @SadKendall

It's the most recent secret celebrity thread.

Curiouscarla · 09/07/2023 10:40

Unless that young person specifically declared her age then this is not a criminal matter. High profile celebs, politicians and actors use the sex industry all time. It's been going on since day dot.
How the young person used the money has nothing to do with it.

Many sex workers enhance their life with their earnings and others go on a road of self destruction.

FMLWTF · 09/07/2023 10:44

Tattle are still chucking names about as far as I can see. It’s Pointless trying to working out who it is. Maybe it’ll be on the 10 o’clock news.

Flickersy · 09/07/2023 10:45

In her opening post OP said she didn't want any speculating, hinting etc because MN will take the thread down. So why are people doing it? Have they not even read the first post?

AlecTrevelyan006 · 09/07/2023 10:47

Anyway, this apparently begun three years ago - he’ll probably blame it on the stress of reporting about Covid every day

Curiouscarla · 09/07/2023 10:48

Well my post does not speculate
And I really do not understand the outrage. It's not a big deal at all.

Yes, there is no police action for a reason. If it is what everyone suspects, a young woman on only fans offering this service and purporting to be 18 then unless it can be proven he knew, or would have known, it’s highly unlikely this will be criminal.

that’s why it’s a bbc investigation. The employer.

the bbc said he’s off air and they are not currently recording with him

I think it’s fairly obvious who it is. He’s prolific on insta and has not posted for a couple of days, the mail saying he was at an awards dinner, prestigious venue, weeks after the complaint, so awards in June. It’s very sad if it’s who I think it is.

Has it been confirmed it's a her?

lovelydovely · 09/07/2023 10:54

@Sunnyfunnytimes

Is it a radio person ?

the sex of the young person involved has not been made clear in media reports. My gut feeling is that’s because it is a young man who presents as a woman.

of course, we’ll probably never know for sure

No defo tv, as the mum said she watched him.

now Patel is involved, saying the bbc needs to fully investigate. So it’s clearly got legs.

I don’t think so…

Samaritans999 · 09/07/2023 10:56

The other issue is the BBC have a duty of care as an employer. As disgusting as this is and if true the individual should be hauled over the coals for it, look at the impact it's already had on some of the individuals who have had to step forward and say it isn't them. 2 have had to seek legal action.

JustBrowingCZ · 09/07/2023 10:57

Doggymummar · 09/07/2023 09:32

I don't have a TV so can you explain what this ys supposed to show? It's a clip from 5 July ?

The twitter authors post is showing a clip from the day before giving a list of presenters that were due to appear on a broadcast on the next show.

The second clip is from the next show without one of the listed broadcasters around the time that the BBC put out the news story.

Other posts on that twitter profile show that he was due to appear but due to a last minute change, he didn't and it doesn't give an explanation.

Zonder · 09/07/2023 11:00

VisionsOfSplendour · 09/07/2023 09:38

A television isn't needed to listen to the clips and spot the difference

You just have to listen to the clips. One says who their guests will be on the next programme. The other introduces the guests on the said programme - with a substitution which people think indicates who the culprit is.

Zonder · 09/07/2023 11:00

Oops didn't see your post till I posted @JustBrowingCZ

I wondered if the tv awards were the BAFTAs in May

Yeah if it was Only Fans how was the bbc presenter supposed to know the young person was spending their money on drugs? If it's not like a Phillip Schofield scenario where they actually knew the person then the problem is with the online sex industry and within the family I guess.

OF is sleazy and I'd happily see it banned but clearly lots of people are using it not just whoever this presenter is.

RaraRachael · 09/07/2023 11:06

OH is part of a Whatsapp group who named the person but have no idea where they got the info from.

JeandeServiette · 09/07/2023 11:06

GeneJeanie · 09/07/2023 06:42

A lot of posters discussing how/why power and fame and money corrupt people. But it's not people is it? It's predominantly men.

It's true.

No, it can’t be, the woman complained on 19th may, the BAFTAs were the week before. So event is likely June,

I noticed that too.

It’s not a random capital T. The first words are all capitals. I checked with other Sun reports, and this is their style.
I thought that had narrowed it down, too.
