First world problems that make you irrationally annoyed!

Just want to vent (lighthearted but kind of not). Went into the Bodyshop today to buy some new shampoo and conditioner and shower gels. First had to fight my way through about 3 people wanting me to try products, which I hate being pounced on. Then I got the shampoo and conditioner I wanted (this is a treat for me as more than I normally spend), and I had a hard sell at the checkout for various things, including upgrading to a refill bottle for shampoo and conditioner, I went for it as like to help the environment…but was in a hurry, get home to find THEY’VE BLOODY PUT SHAMPOO IN BOTH BOTTLES! I’m irrationally annoyed about this particularly given the way they pushed it on me, and the fact I went out of my way to go to the shop. What first world things have annoyed you today? 😂and would this annoy you?!

When posters are still up for events on dates which have already passed.

Zarataralara · 10/07/2023 08:01

People, just people , every day. Their loudness, their sense of entitlement, their lack of manners. I’d love to live on my own little island with just cats and dogs fir company.

Marchintospring · 10/07/2023 08:05

I love all these. The poster one irritates me especially.

Mines dull and been done to death but I can’t understand why they don’t load passengers into planes efficiently. Just seat from the back first. That way half the plane isn’t repeatedly stuck behind people very slowly putting cabin bags into overhead lockers . I get those who have paid more to sit at the front get on first but it can’t be a benefit to have peoples butts constantly shuffling by you for 10 minutes as they queue to get their seats. Waiting for the plebs to sort themselves out would drive me nuts. It does already and I am one.

When people practically come to a stop when they turn left when driving - why??!

Because a vehicle is turning slowly ahead of them. Because a pedestrian is crossing the road. Or another reason why it isn't immediately clear to proceed into the side road or entrance.

Much better than swinging round the corner without indicating or looking into the side road and sounding your horn at the pedestrian who is half way across the road. Because obviously maintaining speed is the most important thing when driving. 🙄

Depends on the corner in my case. There are some very sharp narrow turns where I live, coming off an 80kmh highway. Damn right I'm slowing down a lot for those!

Slowing down is fine - I mean some people near me practically fully stop the the car

A lot of assumptions there?? I’ve never sounded a horn at a pedestrian. You can slow down of course but STOPPING to turn a corner is dangerous when there’s other cars behind you, especially when you don’t indicate as a lot of them don’t. Slow down? Yes. Practically come to a stop? No.

Catspyjamas17 · 10/07/2023 08:53

I've had to come to a complete stop turning into a road I live off because it's narrow and if there are two vehicles going one way and two going the other sometimes pulling in and squeezing past is required. I always indicate and slow down gradually though. Still get idiots behind beeping because their journey has been delayed by a microsecond, and they've probably been driving up my arse in the 20mph zone for the last half mile.

Fizbosshoes · 10/07/2023 09:14

The parking sensors in the car. I reverse parked in my drive efficiently, using my mirrors and observational skills for 15 years. Now I get distracted my all sorts of peeping. "Yes I know the hedge is there, I CAN SEE IT!!! I've parked next to it for years with no problem"

Fgs. I am talking about a normal 30mph road and turning into a normal road. Why are you so hell bent on proving you just have to stop. Yes on a narrow slow road it might be needed. But not on a normal road, it just shows lack of confidence as a driver which can be dangerous.

I suspect you'd count my slowing down as almost stopping, lol! My sister does ... but my driving teacher said I drive better than she does (and she's been driving since the 70s). 😄

Damn fools should be indicating, but I'd add, don't tailgate. And their tail lights must go on as they hit the brakes, at least there's that much warning.

Those bloody annoying lids on drinks bottles that don't come all the way off now, and then when you screw it back up it doesn't seal properly and I get bastarding coke all over my bag.

Oh god, so much this. I'm a slob who drinks out of the bottle and the poxy lid gets in the way, and it never goes back on properly.
I have abandoned Coke and gone to the dark side (Pepsi) but I suppose they'll all be doing it soon.

I’m not tailgating. Stop assuming things 💖💖💖💖

Sorry, it sounded like you might be a bit too close!

Mind you tailgating is another of those annoying things, isn't it?

Businesses that answer the phone with Hello, just hello nothing else. Why can't they say Hello "business name".

But what really gives me the rage is drivers that pass you on the right but then cut right in front of you and brake! Especially when there is nothing in front of them. This then forced me to break and then normally drive like a tit to swing around them. I never cut them up, but it's happening so often now I'm starting to think I should!

Catsmere · 10/07/2023 11:03

Yes, and the ones who exit in the right lane (when they could be in the left, but that would - gasp! - force them to be behind you at the lights) then cut in front as you're accelerating in the left lane.

I refused to drive DH’s car until he stopped it quietening the radio when it was put into reverse.

Fucking patronising bastarding car manufacturers.

Catspyjamas17 · 10/07/2023 11:14

You can turn the parking sensors off, and adjust the volume v radio settings.

violinviolet · 10/07/2023 11:32

Getting annoyed at cashless places:
As a support worker, my service users only have cash. It means I have to pay on my card as I don't want them to miss out but it's a nightmare claiming it back.

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 10/07/2023 11:47

The fact that when I do an online shop from Sainsbury’s, they never have sponge fingers. Yet when I went in the other day (unusually for me) they had loads.

The online shop is picked at the same store........

Now done. Looking for new cars and am quite annoyed about how hard it is to switch all that crap off. I’ll keep myself in the lines, at a safe distance etc thanks.
