First world problems that make you irrationally annoyed!

Just want to vent (lighthearted but kind of not). Went into the Bodyshop today to buy some new shampoo and conditioner and shower gels. First had to fight my way through about 3 people wanting me to try products, which I hate being pounced on. Then I got the shampoo and conditioner I wanted (this is a treat for me as more than I normally spend), and I had a hard sell at the checkout for various things, including upgrading to a refill bottle for shampoo and conditioner, I went for it as like to help the environment…but was in a hurry, get home to find THEY’VE BLOODY PUT SHAMPOO IN BOTH BOTTLES! I’m irrationally annoyed about this particularly given the way they pushed it on me, and the fact I went out of my way to go to the shop. What first world things have annoyed you today? 😂and would this annoy you?!

When you're entering a supermarket at the same time as someone else, they rush to get in before you (no problem) then just stop.. in the middle of the bloody doorway to browse at some crappy promotion and you cant get past 😠 seems to happen nearly every time

I was once told (on a boat) "only captains and arseholes stand in the companion way, and you're not the captain".

Happygot · 08/07/2023 10:02

These are all brilliant !

@Chewbaccaslime right? And it was the fact I went out of my way and had to drive to another town to visit the bodyshop, then I was hassled and nagged by the cashier to get this refill bottle thing when I was in a hurry, and then left with 2 lots of blooming shampoo. I mean how hard is it to put the right stuff in the right bottle..

@InMySpareTime i get annoyed when (normally in supermarkets) the size on the hanger and the actual clothing size don’t match…I’ve been caught out by that a few times!

@Fizbosshoes @MeinKraft both these things annoy me as well!

@Pascha ·
Those bloody annoying lids on drinks bottles that don't come all the way off now, and then when you screw it back up it doesn't seal properly and I get bastarding coke all over my bag.

Oh yes indeedy!

Went to a theatre where you weren't supposed to bring drinks in. I would imagine they meant liquid in glasses but as I regularly need to drink water I put a bottle in my bag. It leaked everywhere. Thank god it did soak my passport!

I have a regular callous on my right hand 2nd finger where I have tried to get the plastic off the bastard bottle.

This is a work thing. We had a new telephone system put it. How I wish they hadn't. Unlike the other system whereby if another call comes in whilst you are on the phone you just press the silent button until you finish your call, now you can be chatting to someone and the new call cuts you off. It is also not obvious if the call did not go through - no sound of a tone.

People ring back to tell you crossly that "You cut me off" Nope the phones do that well enough on their own. Or they say the ward/person repeating it v.e.r.y. s.l.o.w.l.y.

we were warned not to get this system but some one went ahead.......

@AmITooOldToDoThis my boot doesn’t open upwards like most people. It opens like a car door. So I could reverse into a space or I wouldn’t be able to use my boot. Just an fyi.

Every time I reverse out of a parking space someone walks behind my car. Sometimes multiple people. My life feels like a real life hazard perception test sometimes.

Reverse into the space then - it's much safer!

Easy solution: reverse in and drive out. It's advised anyway. It won't stop them walking in front of you but at least you'll be able to see them more easily!

When phone "help"lines have multiple recorded messages about how much quicker and easier it is to sort your shit out online. I'm able to use websites and apps but often they either don't work, don't offer the service I want or I need an actual person to answer a query. I'm not wasting my morning listening to shitty lift music for fun!!

That's not irrational at all!

Oh yes. Though not sure that is irrational either - they are just inconsiderate twotsits.

Lisabirdy · 09/07/2023 11:17

The consistent lack of frozen mixed peppers in tesco is ruining my life!

SeaToSki · 09/07/2023 11:24

Kids playing video games in public spaces without headphones and the volume up high. I can slightly understand if they are watching a video with dialog that is pointless without sound (although its still bloody disrespectful) but when all the noise is just whizzes and squeaks it really gets my goat.

People that drive forwards into spaces. Much easier and safer to reverse in, drive out. (even when you need to put things in the boot.)

Not if you need a mobility scooter or wheelchair from the boot! This is especially true if there's no disabled bays free.

Sorry not sorry, there's not enough space between cars to do it.

Or disabled or ill.

Ffs, just say excuse me and go around? Not hard to do!

Gingernaut · 09/07/2023 11:35

When I log on to a site using my laptop, because I've got no ready access to my mobile (mugged recently, it was stolen), they will still send a code to my phone, to verify me EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE MY EMAIL ADDRESS AND COULD HAVE SENT SOMETHING THERE INSTEAD

There is no provision to anything else, they won't let me change my preference from mobile to email

HSBC are twats

HMRC gives me the rage for this reason. If I could sort it out online I would!

Really depends on your car. I’m a short arse and it’s much safer for me to reverse out since my car has reversing cameras that also give you an angled view to the sides.

It can never be safer reversing out given the steering is only working the front of your car. Physics dictates that.

Can you not see more out of the front of your car? Sounds like you need a different car if not! 😱

Puffalicious · 09/07/2023 12:03

I get you OP. That would have driven me INSANE!

People who are really, fucking loud. In the pub last night (i get it, it's a pub), so irritating that the group of people beside us had 1) a guy that had the most booming voice telling really unfunny anecdotes we could hear every word of 2) a woman that shrieked so hard it could have broken all the glasses. I was BU- grumpy and old- but I really wanted to politely tap them on the shoulder and tell them to STFU. And no we couldn't move- no other seats. We could have moved pubs, but we were comfy and we like it there 😆

AmadeustheAlpaca · 09/07/2023 12:06

I like to listen to the radio on my phone sometimes, tried recently to listen to a particular station and in order to do so had to download an app and also register with my personal details. Just to listen to some tunes. Don’t mind downloading an app but come on, giving email details etc when there are millions of other radio stations to choose from? Definitely not a Greatest Hit with me.
