What can boys do that girls can't do?

DD(11)'s homework
If you're a girl: is there something, that you would be able to do if you were a boy, that you can't do as a girl?

She has rejected my suggestions of:
look for something that is lost
multi-tasking
going to the toilet standing up (she has a shewee, and says she would be too embarrassed to write that on her homework)

What is the best answer to this question?

Oh some of these are good, although she won't want to put anything involving bodily functions! It specifies as a girl/boy so I guess wages and babies are out too.

@GalileoHumpkins it was a bit tongue in cheek as she's always complaining DS can't find things!

I don't think girls can fight on the front line in the British army? They didn't use to be able to about ten years ago anyway.

They can join other infantry regiments and serve on the frontline, just not the SAS.

Are there still golf clubs that don't admit women?

Otherwise, produce sperm, go around being hairy and no one bat an eyelid?

In America there are

Be a catholic priest (is that true still…?)

do you know the point of this question? Are they trying to demonstrate that women are still oppressed in some ways or that there’s nothing really that a women can’t do.

Yes, still true about Catholic priests.

Women can't join the Masons I don't think, or maybe that's changed?

Or play golf at Augusta in the US

What an interesting homework. And I can't decide if I like it or not. Is there more background you can give us? Is it a Pshe homework? Is it serious or supposed to be in jest?

I like the idea of saying nothing and giving examples of things that are traditionally expected to be done by males but give examples of women that do those jobs.

I'm confused by it. But good luck to DD.

Surely the answer is no - then go on to explain how girls can do exactly the same things boys can?

TheCheeseTray · 27/06/2023 17:25

Produce sperm
produce more testosterone
build bigger muscle mass
get an erection
grow chest hair

Become a Lord therefore sit in the House Of Lords.
Walk down the street without fear of being catcalled or harassed.

Whatafool123 · 27/06/2023 17:26

Go to a boys school ( is that still true?)

TheCheeseTray · 27/06/2023 17:26

Earn more for the same work
sit in certain seats in the House of Lords (restricted as women can’t occupy those positions)

Can’t become a Lord, but can become a Baroness and sit in the House of Lords

The Army were doing a recruitment drive at one time for women to apply to sas.

Anything involving a penis I guess.

We’ve given examples of things cannot do though. I suppose it’s ambiguous. Girls could technically ‘do’ these things, they are just prevented by laws and legislation from doing so.

No they weren’t. They were recruiting for women to work in attached roles, not as badged soldiers.
