I hate it, when will it cool down. Early 20s would be fine.

@Moveoverdarlin not winter but autumn is so pretty, 16 to 18 celsius, fresh, sunny, clear skies

Those kind of autumn days are beautiful and very rare where I live.

My autumnal reality is dank snd grey with temperatures struggling to reach double figures.

Loving it, after no spring, be considerate to those that love it,plenty of time for crap weather

cobden28 · 24/06/2023 00:39

We need a good thunderstorm to clear the air and lower the temperature !

User087 · 24/06/2023 00:57

Nice weather today - I'm wearing a jumper.

LlynTegid · 24/06/2023 07:04

Wimbledon starts on Monday week.

mondaytosunday · 24/06/2023 07:26

You know I have this app....
And it says after peaking at 30 in Sunday it will slowly cool to be low 20s from Thursday on, until the next t heat wave!

Yes, my top temperature is now 32 degrees on the BBC weather app and as we know, that's in the shade so "feels like" hotter than that 😱

Abracadabra12345 · 24/06/2023 07:54

I agree with a pp upthread that this should include "in London and the SE" in its title as it really is hot here!

I don't want it to be cold and rainy I would like it to be mildly warm with a few clouds, about 21 degrees. It's not boiling hot or freezing cold, there are in betweens. Well these used to be anyway.
I'm in the South West.

Yes - perfect weather . 18 - 22 degrees. A few clouds . It can rain overnight .

RampantIvy · 24/06/2023 08:36

22 to 25 degrees is perfect.

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 24/06/2023 08:54

I’m bloody delighted we’re going to be hitting 30 this weekend! Heaven!

21 sounds freezing 😀

Your 'mildly warm' is my 'still a bit chilly actually, when is it going to be summer.' 😁

Seriously, I really think this is nothing to be delighted about. People are dying in other countries.

What's that got to do with it?

Are you saying people shouldn't enjoy the weather while it lasts because other people are dying? Jesus.

What can we do about it? Nothing.

thesnailandthewhale · 24/06/2023 15:33

Just enjoy the short bit of the year where we don't have to worry about the heating bills Smile

hexsnidgett · 24/06/2023 18:43

I don't understand how to enjoy it?
Genuine question what do you like about it?

We take summer as a time to relax outside of work so instead of renovating we are reading in the garden, going to the beach, beer gardens and out door play parks. We also have a hot tub that's currently sat at 29 during the day for cool dips. Long term aim is come September we will dig a pool ready for next year. We planned to do it this year but thought last year was a one off

Air con and fans on constantly instead.

hexsnidgett · 24/06/2023 19:21

Reading in the garden sounds uncomfortable, hot and noisy.
I would avoid beach, beer gardens and out door play parks in the summer as they would be too busy and hot.
I like walking, cycling and going somewhere new to explore, but it all goes on hold when it's so hot I can't do those things in comfort.
I feel trapped in my house, which is not even very cool.

Can you take steps to cool down like wearing swimwear or going somewhere you can dip in and out of the water like at the beach. Disney I lived in a crop top and cycling shorts

KnitMePurlMe · 22/06/2023 22:48

It’ll be like this until around the 21st July when the schools break up 🤷‍♀️. Then it’ll piss down 😄

Are you in an area where there is always at least one massive thunderstorm, complete with flash floods and chaos, in the last two weeks of term? Last year was the first one where it hasn't happened here for as long as I can remember.

doubleoseven · 24/06/2023 20:05

Pretty much been that most days for the last few weeks in Scotland. I agree, it's perfect. Not too hot to sleep. Crept up to 27 the other day and was too hot for me. I expect our Scottish summer will be over by next week when the schools break up, as is always the way. We will then get a lot of rain.

I used to live in the South East and the summers were unbearable so I do sympathise.

grapehyacinthisactuallyblue · 25/06/2023 21:39

Are you saying people shouldn't enjoy the weather while it lasts because other people are dying? Jesus.

Yes, I am. At least lf you are aware of the consequences of climate changes.
Are you saying we should enjoy this unusually hot weather because why not, people are at least not dying in England? Seriously. Ignorance in max level.
