I hate it, when will it cool down. Early 20s would be fine.

We must be in the SE because if you're not, this question must seem daft.

Yep.

Wi-Fi? We have yet to invent the wheel here in Yorkshire Grin

Today is a very pleasant 22 degrees, but cloudy.

It’s like an internet modem but without wires. It doesn’t even make the mmmmbeepbeepzzzzzzz sound!

Do you have broadband yet where you are?

Oh my - I hope I get to see this Wi-Fi! I just can't get my head around the fact you can have a modem without wires and no mmmmbeepbeepzzzzzzz sound. Broadband?? Errr...

We live in Scotland England, so no - we're still using semaphore here on dry days, but on the remaining 362 days of the year we send trained sheep out with messages tied around their necks.

Sartre · 23/06/2023 16:40

Usually October, that tends to be the case every year anyway…

RampantIvy · 23/06/2023 16:40

Smoke signals here @SirChenjins

RampantIvy · 23/06/2023 16:41

Although, it is very hilly round here, so I am learning to yodel Grin

I also live in the homestead of Scotland but we definitely don’t get 3 dry days a year. I’ve not seen the sun in my lifetime; my grandfather told me of days of old when he used to ride the wagon to the coast and once, he didn’t need his Macintosh.

I am afraid our hamlet is unlikely to be Wi-Fi capable in our lifetime. The best we can hope for is mains electricity. I hear it’s life changing; you can even get an inside toilet in some of the other parts of England outside our hamlet.

Yodel - I heard some places (in the city of London presumably?) deliver parcels by this yodel that you speak of. Now I don’t fully understand; being from the hamlet of Scotland; but I believe the parcels might go down the Wi-Fi?

Teacakeorcrumpet · 23/06/2023 17:35

In my hamlet of West Scotland its been 16° and raining most of the day here.

I'm waiting for the mail coach to arrive at the inn to let me know the forecast for tomorrow but the dirt road turned to mud with all the rain and one of the horses lost its shoe so it could be next week now before my letter from London arrives.

SirChenjins · 23/06/2023 18:30

Inside toilets? You mean the chanty? Confused

I can’t for the life of me fathom this Wi-Fi. You can send parcels down it? That would save wee Agnes days of walking in the rain - she’s the fastest one we’ve got, but she’s a sheep after all and has her limits.

cassiatwenty · 23/06/2023 19:08

I can't believe you use sheep for mail and parcel delivery @SirChenjins. However this surely helps bypass phishing attempts.

Scotland is too far for Nigerian Prince to come in person and ask for assistance with his inheritance (don't ask, modern day crockery). Is that Highlander film based on a true story? Immortals ☄

NotBotheredAnymore · 23/06/2023 19:19

This thread 😂😂 Thanks for the laughs.

goes in search of messaging sheep

Not soon enough 😔. I have given up on sleep and caffeinate myself through work.

Are you me?
Awake by 5.3am then on a caffeine drip. Everyone telling me I look tired.

RampantIvy · 23/06/2023 19:29

Going back to being serious for a moment - I feel that threads about the weather are so location dependent that the OP needs to state what region they are in. So the first post could have said "Does anyone know when it will stop being hot in London and the South East".

Most of the rest of the UK hasn't face 30 degree temperatures yet this year.

cassiatwenty · 23/06/2023 13:42

Prof Brian Cox is that you? @Faz469

We share a birthday but that's about it 🤣

Tribblesarelovely · 23/06/2023 19:43

Hopefully not until October, just dreading the long grey days.

grapehyacinthisactuallyblue · 23/06/2023 19:46

El Nino has just started or is starting, so not for a while, I assume.

Honestly I had a 13 hour shift today, and I said to my dh last night I was just going to put my uniform on and stand by the front door all night.
I yawned my way through the shift today. So glad I am off this weekend 😃.

HoistWithHisOwnPetard · 23/06/2023 11:08

its not been hot here at all yet, NW

we had some sunny days a couple of weeks ago but its raining now, I am still sleeping in socks under thick duvet

Not been hot in the NW? You've got to be kidding. It's been bloody boiling for weeks and no rain until recently. It's cooled off a bit now but is 27 degrees again tomorrow.

OnedayIwillfeelfree · 23/06/2023 22:23

5.17 pm, 6 October 2023. Thanks

JassyRadlett · 23/06/2023 22:29

Hopefully not until at least the middle of October. The last few weeks after the shitty spring and endless winter I finally don't ache, I finally don't have sore joints, I finally feel comfortable and alive.

You lot get most of the year with your miserable cold weather. I'm sorry people don't like this but we don't get much of it so don't wish it away for those of us who love it! It will be cold again soon enough....

cheeseisthebest · 23/06/2023 23:46

I don't want it to be cold and rainy I would like it to be mildly warm with a few clouds, about 21 degrees. It's not boiling hot or freezing cold, there are in betweens. Well these used to be anyway.
I'm in the South West.

@cheeseisthebest
Yes, when winter is coming

Moveoverdarlin · 23/06/2023 23:53

Hopefully not for a while. I adore this weather. Not worrying about coats or school jumpers for the children. Everyday wearing a dress and sandals, All of our meals outside. Summer walks in the evening. Ice-lollies, driving in the sun with music playing in the car, being tanned. I even went swimming in an outdoor pool this week which was bliss. Not to mention our electricity bills going from £350 a month to £150.

I can’t believe people look forward to it being dark at 5pm and cold all the time.
