Please help me navigate this situation with my DS's girlfriend

Going to a festival in a few weeks. DS 13 wants to bring his GF 14 too. I've agreed as long as it's ok with her parents. They've only been dating a short while, but friends beforehand. Apparently GF's Mum worries a lot and GF has asked that I don't tell her that they're dating as she won't let her go. I've refused. Said I'm not happy lying. DS distraught. I've ruined the festival for him blah blah.

I wouldn't want to take her either. Three days/nights effectively babysitting and the dynamic would totally change. For me it would be a flat out not this time.

@Ridiculousradish it's not the Back 2 festival is it? Feel free to pm me if it is as I'm going there in a few weeks and am taking 2 of my sons (15 & 11).

I think you're right not to lie. I think it's lovely you've offered to take her, and of course you'll be able to supervise adequately if it's a festival the size of Back 2 or smaller.
