Things that make you irrationally annoyed

This is just for fun ...

The Shipping Forecast came on Radio 4 a short while ago and, as usual, I went grrrr and wanted it to go away. Ridiculous I know.

My mum's handwriting does it too - just have to see it for a second and I have an internal reaction. Absolutely no real reason for it.

An envelope with the address upside down.

I'm sure I've got dozens more ....

People who can't shut up for 5 minutes

PuttingDownRoots · 10/06/2023 18:09

My right foot. It hurts and I've no idea why.

Hellocatshome · 10/06/2023 18:11

People who stop a long way from the car in front at traffic lights then slowly creep closer and closer to them. Just stop in the right place to begin with!

Lottsbiffandsmudge · 10/06/2023 18:12

The way my DH opens the roll of foil. Breaking the box so it can't be torn easily for the 6 months it lasts for.
Oh and that used glass on the worktop above the empty dishwasher.

DaftyLass · 10/06/2023 18:14

Cupboard doors that don't quite sit fully shut.

Squirrelsnut · 10/06/2023 18:16

Saucepans with handles that heat up. Appalling design.

Circumferences · 10/06/2023 18:17

I get annoyed by other people being annoyed for no reason.
Jeez just chill.

Whatnextcrazyworld · 10/06/2023 18:18

Hellocatshome I'm with you on that.

Lottsbiffandsmudge Yes to the dirty glass!

Another one for me -
he way my DH opens an envelope ... definitely not the "normal" way!

Hubby slurping his dinner 🤮

StarDolphins · 10/06/2023 18:58

If I stop behind parked cars & flash someone through, I wait patiently, they come through & no acknowledgement whatsoever😡

Also, when my DD asks me for a bit of my tea😡 RAGING🤣

LaMaG · 10/06/2023 19:00

When anyone in my house sees me and immediately opens a bloody monologue then gets annoyed I'm not listening. My presence does not mean I'm engaged. Sometimes I sneak off alone to another room to read or come on here and they will follow me to talk at me. F* off DH and DC!!!!

Sunnysidegold · 10/06/2023 19:15

When someone shouts on me in the house and expects me to come running to have a conversation rather than them move themselves to find me

Yes!

People who insist on talking at me first thing in the morning.

Trailing cables in my house

People who don’t position themselves correctly in lanes so others can’t filter past

People who post on Mnet in a really vague, unclear way doing things like switching up gender or ages or just basically being evasive about what it is they are inviting comments on. Just post properly and clearly, or don’t! 😡

Most drivers creep towards red lights, it saves fuel and stops having to set of in first gear . Thought it was common knowledge? Maybe just with professional/ competant drivers ??!!

MrsWhites · 10/06/2023 20:25

When people call dry dog food biscuits and wet dog food meat 🤢🤢 Literally turns my stomach!

SomethingNastyInTheGenePool · 10/06/2023 20:30

There’s an old friend of DP’s family who always writes the name and address on an envelope right up against the left-hand edge instead of nicely centred. For some reason, this ENRAGES me. I really ought to get over this and cut her some slack — she’s lovely, and almost 90.

crew2022 · 10/06/2023 20:32

FIL saying "it's a good wage" and "it's good x has got work" instead of salary and job/ career!!

britespark1 · 10/06/2023 20:34

People who ring me so I have a missed call, then text me to say they rang……

Alighttouchonthetiller · 10/06/2023 20:35

Adults who talk about having 'a good feed' instead of a good dinner.

It enrages me. I'm not a fucking pony.

HaveWeGotAnyCake · 10/06/2023 20:40

My husband leaves cupboard doors open, and it makes me go a bit mad. He'll use the last bit of toilet roll but leave the cardboard inner there and not put a new toilet roll out (he'd need to reach down about 6 inches o reach one)

I get irritated by certain noises - slurping, chewing, crunching (husband does all of them), clocks ticking, squeaky hinges, the extractor fan. I'm very easily pissed off.

Well thats me told! So how does that work when you stop miles away from the car in front, creep up to it then have to come to a stop anyway cos the lights are still on red?

HelpMeGetThrough · 10/06/2023 20:43

Irrationally annoying day, after 300 miles driving, we were 30 minutes from getting to eldests halls. Accident on the junction we needed, which meant a 2 hour nose to tail detour. I felt like eating the steering wheel!!!

After 16 hours behind the wheel and over 700 miles, we are now back home. You'd have thought I'd got over it by now, not a chance!!!

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 10/06/2023 20:46

Idiots cruising along the middle lane on motorways.

Well if you can see cars stop miles away . Wow 👌
