Things that make you irrationally annoyed

This is just for fun ...

The Shipping Forecast came on Radio 4 a short while ago and, as usual, I went grrrr and wanted it to go away. Ridiculous I know.

My mum's handwriting does it too - just have to see it for a second and I have an internal reaction. Absolutely no real reason for it.

An envelope with the address upside down.

I'm sure I've got dozens more ....

Strangers that sit or stand right next to you when there's MASSES of room!

midsomermurderess · 10/06/2023 20:50

People who can’t summarise things and just drivel on and on; repetitive noises/actions like hair fiddling, foot jiggling, gum chewing, pen clicking.

Whatnextcrazyworld · 10/06/2023 20:52

People - for that read DH - who have no spatial awareness and mill around in the supermarket getting in everybody's way.

And shoppers who stand in the queue for ages but don't have their payment method ready and then spend ages rummaging around in a handbag while everybody else scowls at them. There should definitely be a law about this!

When my DD says 'muuuum' for the billionth time in that certain, grating, whiney way. Just talk in your normal voice kid, I'm still going to listen! And it's always something ridiculous too, 'I saw a fly'. Ok great, thanks for the update. Argh!

Sorry, I do love my dc before anyone likes on, but it's been a bloody long half term.

Junobug · 10/06/2023 20:54

Unsalted butter. It really, irrationally make me cross becaue it tastes disgusting and salted butter is the best thing ever.
And atvtge moment, people pushing in front of my children. We're in France and it seems to be happening a lot. I have 4 children in a foreign country. I need to stay near them but old women keep cutting in the middle of them and I cant keep a tab of them all.

Whatnextcrazyworld · 10/06/2023 20:55

Hangers hooked over the rail back to front is another one.

Whistling 😗😬

KateyCuckoo · 10/06/2023 20:59

People who don't use my doorbell and just rap quietly on the door (don't even use the knocker).

loverofbono · 10/06/2023 21:06

When my MIL says she's going to 'learn' my child how to do something. Makes me want to cut my ears off.

smileannie · 10/06/2023 21:19

Following on from Sunnysidegold, the same people shouting for you - You ask them where they are and they say ‘’here”. How the hell do I know where “here” is?

LaDamaDeElche · 10/06/2023 21:30

People that stop suddenly in the street.
People who walk too slowly.
Noisy birds.
Loud people on public transport.
Avocados that are too hard to eat.
People asking me to meet up at the last minute.
When it's warm/hot but raining.
Noise while I'm trying to sleep.
Passive aggressiveness.
God, so many things I could go on forever...😂

FH27 · 10/06/2023 21:35

When people use multiple question marks or exclamation marks.

People who knock on my window instead of using the intercom.

Yes, 100 times yes. And this bloody thing🤣 So often it's passive aggressive

usernother · 10/06/2023 21:41

Anyone who has keypad tones on their phone. It makes me very angry and I think being so angry is justified in this case.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 10/06/2023 21:43

Colleague who if I wasn't at my desk used to walk the length of the office to tell me my phone was ringing. Answer it and take a message, numpty.

Bigglebiggle · 10/06/2023 21:48

When I'm driving down a 60 road and someone pulls out infront of me causing me to slow down and then drives at 40mph WHEN THERE IS NO OTHER VEHICLE BEHIND ME.

xyz111 · 10/06/2023 21:50

My cupboard full of Tupperware that you can't open without it all falling out, but that I can't bring myself to sort out

Riverlee · 10/06/2023 21:53

When people gives their dates of births in numbers. Ie. Born on 4, 7, 73. No, you were born in ‘7’. You were born in July. If possible, I’ll always write 4th July 1973 on forms rather than 04/07/73.

DemonicCaveMaggot · 10/06/2023 21:55

Emojis and people who use them.

Bluevelvetsofa · 10/06/2023 21:56

Everyone who shops n my local Aldi and insists on parking their trolley right by the upright fridges, so no one else can get to the fruit/meat/ yoghurt. It isn’t that difficult to put it out of the way ffs.

crackofdoom · 10/06/2023 21:57

Lidl toothpaste has a teeny tiny foil safety seal on the end of the nozzle with a teenier tinier tag that you have to pinch between your nails to tug off, and it's really firmly anchored so usually takes a couple of goes.

JUST WHY LIDL, WHY? FOR GOD'S SAKE JUST LET ME CLEAN MY FUCKING TEETH!!!

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 10/06/2023 22:06

And who have apparently never heard that you pack as it's scanned.

BluesandClues · 10/06/2023 22:06

People who mumble in a monotone at the floor when talking to me.

I have hearing loss slap bang in the speech range, then when I ask them to repeat themselves (explaining why) and they continue talking to the dust instead of myself.
