What do people do regarding these robots on the roads/paths?

Little white robots do deliveries here..

See them zooming around everywhere but this afternoon one stopped at a zebra crossing, I was driving so stopped to let it cross but it just sat there....I waited, car in opposite direction just drove across.

As it hadn't moved to cross I just drove on. What's correct action?

You’re not suppose to stop for them at zebra crossings but if they are waiting at traffic lights they appreciate you pressing the button for them.

BlueThursday · 07/06/2023 16:28

Can’t see them coming here to Glasgow. They’ll either be set alight or commandeered by drug dealers

WhatsitWiggle · 07/06/2023 16:28

I love these! Saw one in Milton Keynes last year when I was visiting my mum and made her pull over so I could watch it trundle along!

RhosynBach · 07/06/2023 16:30

I want one! I’ve never seen one where I am in wales. They look ace.
how do they navigate potholes? What if someone steals one?!

SockQueen · 07/06/2023 16:31

I live in MK and quite often see them pottering around, but sadly they don't cover my estate.

They're featured in an episode of Grace's Amazing Machines, if you have a CBeebies aged child.

Also amazed by this , seen on tv didn't know they were actually in use , wonder what dogs and cats make of them ? Cats could thumb a lift I suppose .🤔

OhhhhhhhhBiscuits · 07/06/2023 16:35

I feel like I gave gone forward in time to like 2040 or something. I live in a large southern central town and this is like some scary futuristic shit. I would get out of their way fast as possible.

LaurieFairyCake · 07/06/2023 16:38

They are so cute 🥰

DataNotLore · 07/06/2023 16:46

Don't they get knicked/wrecked?

BurntOutGirl · 07/06/2023 16:48

Absolutely hate them. They freak me out.... no idea why

Have seen them nearly cause car crashes though

00100001 · 07/06/2023 16:50

They'll play you a song when you open them! We did baby shark 🦈 😂😂😂

DataNotLore · 07/06/2023 16:46

Don't they get knicked/wrecked?

They're pretty indestructible, locked via app, so only the person making the order can open it... Plus mostly vegetables inside ha ha

Literally no point stealing them!

ThreeFeetTall · 07/06/2023 16:54

You could get them to deliver your drugs if you could hack them I guess.

Would take a lot of effort to do that
.. why bother when you can pay a 14yo £20??

BlockbusterVideoCard · 07/06/2023 17:08

Do you think they train them to hide the parcel in your bin?

Today's internet-winning comment.

BlockbusterVideoCard · 07/06/2023 17:11

Have seen them nearly cause car crashes though

Magnitudes less often that other car drivers, pedestrians, motorcyclists, etc. etc. and bloomin' hire bikes and e-scooters (abandoned or being ridden), I should think.

TaylorSwiftFan · 07/06/2023 17:11

So how big are they? Could they deliver a weekly shop for 4 people or just bread and milk?

DidyouNO · 07/06/2023 17:14

As someone from rural Scotland I'm assuming you live 20years in my future! 😂😂

QueefQueen80s · 07/06/2023 17:19

Seen these in Leeds. Would love to know how many accidents they've had!

gogohmm · 07/06/2023 17:31

I want robots! (Actually I want a Chinese takeaway that delivers by any means, tge options here are only Indian or dominos

gogohmm · 07/06/2023 17:33

We'd be a good candidate area too as it's pedestrianised from the coop to here, but lots of apartments, they won't be able to reach the lift buttons!

ThreeFeetTall · 07/06/2023 16:54

If drug dealers teamed up with robotics experts they could build a very profitable empire indeed. They'd need to equip them with flame throwers though to keep the other junkies away.

BotterMon · 07/06/2023 17:34

OMG thank goodness where I live there are no pavements but I guess they don't deliver far so won't ever be invaded by them.

JustGeorgie · 07/06/2023 17:38

Snowtrails · 07/06/2023 16:13

Are driverless motorised vehicles allowed to use zebra crossings?

I was wondering!

Restee · 07/06/2023 16:17

Where do you all live?! They'd be trashed in seconds by arseholes round here. Unless the potholes in the pavements got them first.

They shriek about calling the police if you are mean to them!
