3 bed semi

Awful damp basement studio flat in London with all the gas appliances condemned, a hole in the kitchen ceiling through which we could see the bottom of upstairs' bath, a rat and slug infestation and no lock on the front door. Oh and the bathroom was in a lean-to and the corrugated plastic roof used to lift and flap about when there was the slightest breeze.

Happily we're a lot more settled now!

BMrs · 04/06/2023 22:26

4 bed

We had a rented 3 bed detached house plus 2x 2 flats we were waiting to sell after the market recovered.

We had both been on the property ladder for 20 and 15 years respectively though.

A little two bed terrace.

Same here. It seemed like a dog kennel :-).

I moved back in with my dad, his girlfriend, her children and my brother in a 5 bed Victorian semi so there was plenty of room but I was miserable. When my baby was 1 I moved into a little 2 bed maisonette and I was so happy there until he was 4. By then we had a 2 year old as well and had outgrown the house.

Bugbeau · 20/08/2024 12:46

2 bedroom flat. 2011.

A little two bed terrace.

Same here. It was not a very nice house, or area, and we were there for nine years in total which was far too long. i wouldn't have had another baby there. My son was four, going on five, when we left. I was very glad to move a bit further away to a three bed semi. It was a different world. i never did have another child, I really relaxed and enjoyed my home for the first time and had a decent part time job, didn't want to rock the boat.

A much bigger one than I live in now with three kids!!

UndercoverCop · 20/08/2024 23:20

3 bed semi, 3 reception rooms downstairs plus kitchen, but didn't have my first/only until I was 34, bought it as a wreck having sold my lovely new build one bed flat almost exactly two years before ds was born

echt · 21/08/2024 03:22

A four-bedroom house in a very nice bit of south London. We were older parents (40) who met in our late 30s, had two properties sold and were bloody lucky.

I think of it fondly and, amazingly, nearly 20 years later, the current owners know who I am and will give me keys should I get locked out when staying with my lovely ex-neighbours and dear friends.

halfthesun · 22/08/2024 14:28

One bedroom flat ... next 3 bedroom house ... now five bedroom and children are grown ups and moving out!

Cambiarenome · 22/08/2024 14:35

2 bed flat.

TorturedParentsDepartment · 22/08/2024 14:44

2 bed house. We were there until the DDs were about 9 and 10 (they shared a room just because it was what circumstances allowed us to afford without getting too mortgaged and insecure). Moved from there to a 4 bed house a couple of years ago.

Lockdowns in such a small house with everyone at home absolutely did for my love of that house.

Fandabedodgy · 22/08/2024 14:46

4 bed, 3 storey house.

We've since moved to a 4 bed 2 storey house as the three floors were a PIA

TheNinny · 05/10/2024 20:29

3 bed semi
