I’m absolutely freezing this evening and just put the heating on. Anyone else cold?

Yep got my heater on in Yorkshire. How is it June! Soon it'll be September and back on full time 🤣

Tinkerbyebye · 01/06/2023 22:15

Yes sitting here in dressing gown, dog on knee as a hot water bottle, both of us covered by a blanket.

its May so heating is not going on!

It wouldn’t occur to me to put the heating on in June. Don’t you own any warm clothes? If I’m cold I put on a jumper.

My thermostat is set. I don't turn it off based in what month it is. It's on all year round. If it's cold it comes on. I'm not being cold if I don't need to be!

I figure that if is was 10-13c in December I wouldn't think twice about having the heating on. So why does the fact it's June but the same temperature make a difference?!

Why wouldn't it occur to you to put the heating on if you are cold? We have our warm clothes on here...but it's freezing. We have heating, so we put it on. We also have money to pay for the heating, so we put it on.

I'm not really interested in winning the MN Most Cold And Miserable But Morally Superior Award, so the heating is on. I'm also drinking wine, which is also far too much like having a good time for some folk, but there we are.

Newestname002 · 01/06/2023 22:19

I'm cozy in thick fleecy socks, t-shirt, wool sweater and thick "Oodi" plus thin fleece trousers. I'm lovely and cozy and about to tuck myself under my duvet plus comforter soon. 🌹

Qilin · 01/06/2023 22:20

Oh, and I won't be whinging about the cost either.
My joints hurt in the cold. So I refuse to be cold at home if I don't have to be.

Crikeyalmighty · 01/06/2023 22:20

My heating clicked on by itself set at 18

Dahliasrule · 01/06/2023 22:21

Yes, heating on here too, Lincolnshire.

Letsdance8188 · 01/06/2023 22:24

I didn't realise it was varying so much at the moment! We're slapping on suncream every day, summer bedding on, multiple fans blasting, lots of bbqs and sunbathing.

It's a beauty in the south west and has been for nearly a month now.

RoseMartha · 01/06/2023 22:27

No heat on here. I am south coast though.
Wearing a hoodie with shorts.
Wind was a bit nippy when I was out this afternoon.

midsomermurderess · 01/06/2023 22:29

Blimey, Mumsnet and heating, makes people all angry and defensive.

Ragruggers · 01/06/2023 22:29

Lovely in Cornwall, really sunny and warm.

mondaytosunday · 01/06/2023 22:32

It says it's 12 degrees here in London on my app but it dies t feel like it - I have the back doors wide open. Bit windy though.

WimbyAce · 01/06/2023 22:32

Shorts and t-shirt weather here, south coast.

louderthan · 01/06/2023 22:35

Chilly on the south east coast this evening. Sunny all day but windy and no cloud cover.

The pavement can get too warm for dogs' paws really quickly in constant sun.

Here in Wales we had to do the barefoot test this morning.

HRTQueen · 01/06/2023 22:38

South London it’s certainly chilly a little warmer than last night. I haven’t put the heating on tonight but have a few times this week

have fluffy socks on

not summer duvet time yet

Oh shush. I had an aunt like you.
She kept the house like a frigging morgue and everyone hated visiting her.
It's 6' tonight here on the north sea coast.

TheLostNights · 01/06/2023 22:43

London here and it's been about 20C so quite warm for the time of year.
Was cold and cloudy this morning though.

Spudlet · 01/06/2023 22:47

The heating kicked in here earlier too (Norfolk). I was in a T-shirt and denim jacket earlier but it was definitely too chilly for sitting around outdoors - brisk walking through town only. Yet despite that ddog still got a bit too warm running earlier in the day so we’re getting the worst of both worlds - cloudy, depressing, and too chilly for relaxing outdoors, but too warm for a good fast run with the dog. Feeling a bit narked with it at the moment, tbh. Now sitting in my big hoodie and regretting not having a pair of fluffy socks to hand 🤨

Nanny31 · 01/06/2023 22:50

Terven · 01/06/2023 22:59

East Anglia. I had my winter jacket on today, a cold NE wind and have put my fleece pyjamas on again. 12C around 11am

aintnospringchicken · 01/06/2023 23:10

I'm in Scotland(east coast). Not much sun in the morning but still warm enough to dry my washing.Sunnier in the afternoon. Had windows open all day. Definitely didn't need to turn heating on.

GladitooktheHighRoad · 01/06/2023 23:51

Southeast here.
14/15deg for last couple of weeks. It’s been cold, wearing lots of layers but today we had some sun.
Havent put the heating on but we did have the wood burner on earlier this week.
