As the question says. In a normal week.

None.

Im summer at a bbq maybe 1 drink a time, max 2. I just don't enjoy the tipsy feeling.

Andywarholswig · 30/05/2023 17:30

Most weeks nothing then I’ll have a week where I drink 3 nights usually 3 pints or a bottle of wine. my social events are like buses, they all come together…

DustyLee123 · 30/05/2023 17:30

None. On the other hand my DH drinks a bottle of wine every night.

Now: none.
In my former life: about five bottles of wine each week.

onlyoneoftheregimentinstep · 30/05/2023 17:33

Usually two bottles of wine across Friday to Sunday, nothing in between.

Rolloisthebestpony · 30/05/2023 17:34

Typical week none.

I do drink, I’m not tee-total, but I only drink the occasional alcoholic drink or two

Dacadactyl · 30/05/2023 17:37

Nowadays, I'd say nothing in an average week.

Maybe once every 3 months I'll drink to excess at a social thing but then regret it afterwards. So on Friday just gone I had three quarters of a bottle of red wine and a G&T. Couldnt remember much of the evening the next day (nothing bad happened... I was with female friends in my own back garden) and felt rough as all Saturday.

Keep thinking about giving up for good and the times between me drinking keep getting wider and wider.

SpanielsByTheSea · 30/05/2023 17:37

A glass of wine with supper about four days a week. Small glasses (what my French mother calls ‘in a Swiss glass’). Maybe once a week, I’ll have two glasses.
An aperitif once a week (small gin and tonic, cremant or kir).
Sometimes a bottle of beer (Leffe or some such) with supper once a week, if we are having gammon, brisket, sausages etc.)

I never get drunk or have a hangover. I couldn’t think of anything worse. Except dry January, that would be worse.
Added up, it’s probably 10-15 units.

Same here. I'm so relieved to have given it up.

TheFTrain · 30/05/2023 17:38

5 units a week (2 bottles of beer). None at the moment as I'm trying to get rid of some body fat.

keffie12 · 30/05/2023 17:38

Nil - I stopped drinking 20 years ago as it had become a problem. The reasons I was drinking on an evening were to block pain, stress, and feelings I had no other solution for at the time. Fortunately, 12 step programs saved me from it getting worse and experiencing all the "yets" as in what hasn't happened to me, yet. Don't miss it. Didn't like the taste of it. I only drunk it to numb me.

surlycurly · 30/05/2023 17:38

Also two bottles over the weekend. Nothing sun- Thursday.

poorchurchmouse · 30/05/2023 17:41

About two bottles of wine (mainly at the weekend, I don’t drink in the week unless I have an event to go to).

poorchurchmouse · 30/05/2023 17:41

But more on holiday- probably a couple of glasses every night.

EversoDisorganised · 30/05/2023 17:42

About one drink a week, more on holiday or at Christmas. Used to be a lot more when I was younger but I got out of the habit when I had the DCs and lost all my tolerance for it.

gerbo · 30/05/2023 17:42

One or two drinks (G&T, medium wine) on a Friday and Saturday night. Maybe one on a Sunday. None Monday-Thursday.

Unescorted · 30/05/2023 17:45

Same as @Slon
In my previous life I would have slid past this thread in a side eye nowt to see here kind of way.

Oddly in real life I minimise my not drinking or make up excuses for not doing so...I am driving/ on antibiotics/ working in the morning. I am only just getting comfortable with stating it as fact and letting it rest there.

GoalShooter · 30/05/2023 17:45

In a typical week - none or just a glass or two.
Now and then (say once a month) - several glasses of wine.
Occasionally (maybe once a year) - absolutely steaming drunk!

overitunderit · 30/05/2023 17:47

Depends for me. Some weeks I'll only have one day without booze. Some weeks I'll have 4 days no booze and other weeks I'll have a glass with dinner every night or maybe a bit more if I fancy it. If I'm socialising I would share a bottle with a friend or have a few drinks if we aren't sharing a bottle. A typical weekend where it's just me and DH we might share a bottle of wine each night so probably a bottle over the weekend in total. Yesterday was bank holiday so I had a couple of glasses of rose over the course of the evening. Sunday we shared a bottle of champagne. Saturday I had a pimms and half a lager at the pub. I think I may have had a glass of wine at home too. Thats a lot more than usual to be fair but 🤷‍♀️

Badleg85 · 30/05/2023 17:49

Typical week none. Maybe once a month or every 6 weeks I'll drive a bottle of wine across and fri/sat/sun evening

Linkstolondon · 30/05/2023 17:50

None.

Cakeorchocolate · 30/05/2023 17:51

None. I drink a glass or two of something maybe once or twice a year. Many years, not even that. I prefer the taste of soft drinks.

LocalHobo · 30/05/2023 17:52

Hardly drink wine any longer, but will probably drink 3 bottles of fizz a week with added Aperol and/or peach schnapps. The occasional cider for good measure.

tigger1001 · 30/05/2023 17:53

Maybe one - three gin and tonics per week. Rarely more than that, but often have none at all.

Choccablocca · 30/05/2023 17:53

None now. Feel so much better for it and it's much easier for me than trying to moderate and have endless thoughts around how much and when which never worked and was exhausting.
