As the question says. In a normal week.

I increasingly find certain alcohol doesn’t agree with me. Ie wine. Can’t drink it anymore. I also get absolutely rancid hangovers of not much alcohol.
Usually about 3 drinks a week now. 7/8 years ago my answer would have been very very different. But increasingly it’s not worth feeling like shit!

Yeah it definitely changes as you get older @Lastqueenofscotland2 Some of my friends have given up completely because one glass of wine floors then the next day now they've hit mid-40s. I'm not there yet so enjoying it while it lasts Blush

I have a high tolerance after overdoing it in my youth and early 30s.
Now I drink about 12-20 units weekly.
I like all alcoholic drinks unfortunately.

I buy Barefoot Rose as it's only 6 units a bottle. I'll have a small glass each night in the week then a few beers on a weekend.
This week it's been,
1 glass wine
4 beers
I'm going out tomorrow for a meal and will probably have a couple of glasses of wine and a beer . 18 units ish..

I do think that current alcohol guidelines are strict.
I can have a small drink most nights but I have rule that I have to be able to drive DD in an emergency.
I am very good at going home or going to bed after a drink or two and I know what a unit is.
I think the problem is when you can't stop.

I'm surrounded by people who drink a lot more than me.

One gin on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday if I drink at all. I didn’t drink last night as just didn’t feel like it. My tolerance has definitely changed. I am 50. I cannot drink wine more than a very small glass of wine or cava these days. I get awful hangovers and I just can’t be bothered with the lack of sleep or the awful feeling the next day anymore.

Probably 2-3 bottles of wine a month so ½-⅔ a bottle a week, some weeks none at all.

I don't really drink at home, sometimes I'll have a glass of wine or a small beer if I go for lunch/dinner at my parents house.

8 pints of beer (real ale under 4%).
No wine or spirits (unless we are out for a meal).
Drink in the pub. Never at home.

In my last two work places it was very sociable so that was 25 years of lots of work socialising plus some entertaining of which quite a bit was free. I would drink up to the equivalent of a bottle of wine in a week but not every week. Now post menopause I can be drunk as a Lord on what seems like a thimbleful. It’s very much high days and holidays now. The last time I drank wine I did drink a whole bottle it was a big post exams free reception and then out for dinner. I got incredibly drunk and my goodness I was so ill the next day I haven’t touched wine for a decade.

We now have a beer or gin if it’s nice enough to eat in the garden, we often share a beer. I would say I probably have the equivalent of one drink every couple of weeks at most.

On a normal week, no alcohol Monday to Thursday. Then one or two on a Friday and Saturday and occasionally one on a Sunday. So three to five alcohol drinks a week on average. A mixture of G&Ts, wine or cider depending on what I fancy.

On holidays I normally drink every day. But it is rare for me to have more than two drinks a day or have a hangover. As others have said, I've noticed a lot of my friends around peri/menopause not being able to tolerate alcohol and I'm not at that stage yet so I'm enjoying it while I can!
