How much alcohol do you drink weekly?

As the question says. In a normal week.

In general I’ll have a bottle
of wine on Friday night, and another on Saturday night. If we’re out in the day (in summer) I might have a cider or aperol spritz.

I don’t normally drink during the week, but if I’m feeling festive I’ll crack open a bottle of wine and spread it out over the week

Jetlaggedgirl · 30/05/2023 17:57

I’ll open a bottle of Prosecco on a Friday and dip in to it during the week, but won’t have more than that one bottle in the week as a whole .

Unless I’m at a wedding. Then I usually spend so much time slimming into a dress beforehand , that by the time the sparkling and canapés come round I look like I’ve spent 40 days In The wilderness

sadsack78 · 30/05/2023 18:12

None. It's just not my thing.

I'm not all virtue and discipline though, not judging anyone who does like a drink. If I'm having a treat it's just more likely to be a fun meal like pizza or a dessert I don't usually have.

None.

Last drink was a glass of champagne in March at a birthday dinner.

Before then - New Year's Eve

Ringmaster27 · 30/05/2023 18:15

I never drink at home on my own.
Mon-Fri DCs are with me, and I’m knackered most of the time, so I go to bed not long after they do and a cup of tea does me just fine.
Fri-Sun when they are with their dad and I have plans with friends or hang out with colleagues after work ? I probably do drink too much 😬😬 Adding it up to the units consumed, I guess I’d fall into the NHS “binge drinking” category 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

GeraltsBathtub · 30/05/2023 18:20

Most weeks I don’t drink anything. If I go out with a particular friend who is a wine expert I might split a bottle of wine with them, or if it is a special occasion I’ll have a glass of wine/champagne. I don’t like beer/cider and I don’t tend to drink spirits. I like wine but I don’t drink it regularly because I’m concerned about breast cancer.

HoleyShit · 30/05/2023 18:20

Used to drink every night, 1-2 drinks and binge drink regularly too.

Now have massively cut back. Some weeks nothing, others I might have 1-2 drinks over the week and about once a month I'll have a 'heavy' night which might be 3-4 drinks.

AdoraBell · 30/05/2023 18:20

Most weeks zero. Had a BBQ with neighbours on Friday, we hosted, and I had 2 glasses of wine. Went to friends on Saturday and had 3 glasses of wine and an Ouzo. Before that, 2 weekends ago I had half pint of cider with a pub lunch. Neighbours had a BBQ for the Coronation and over the day I had 4 drinks with lots of food, 2 Proseccos and 2 whiskies.

I hardly ever open a bottle of wine at home because DH isn’t keen and I won’t drink more than my usual 1 glass just avoid wasting it. Occasionally have a G&T at home.

Crabacus · 30/05/2023 18:21

I don't drink at home really, so depends on social events. In a normal week I'd have none. Last week I had 4 small glasses of wine. It probably averages to one a week over the year.
I don't have any tolerance for it after kids and I also now have pernicious anaemia (B12 deficiency) which is not a great combo with alcohol.

Giselletheunicorn · 30/05/2023 18:23

Average week between 0 and three glasses of wine.

As I get older my body rejects alcohol more. The hangovers are NASTY! So it's easier not to bother most of the time.

Aria2015 · 30/05/2023 18:43

1 or sometimes 2 bottles of wine spread Fri to Sun. None Monday to Thursday.

Appleass · 30/05/2023 18:44

None

Susuwatariandkodama · 30/05/2023 18:47

On average: None

Occasionally in the summer we may have one glass of cider or vodka or gin here and there, we’ve never been big drinkers and we didn’t go out to clubs/pubs when were younger either so it’s not really part of our lifestyle.

ThatsNotGoodMelon · 30/05/2023 18:48

Me and Dh always have a bottle of wine with dinner on Wednesdays to break the week up.

Then maybe one other day a week, Friday or Saturday, I'll have 2/3 beers or go to the pub for a couple.

AuntieMarys · 30/05/2023 18:50

About 2 bottles of wine and a fee large gins

bonfirebash · 30/05/2023 18:52

None
I'm not technically alcohol free but I drink (binge) once a year or so, and have the odd cider in summer. So today it's been 1 day since my last drink but if you asked me the day before it would have been 6 months

tailinthejam · 30/05/2023 18:55

Like a lot of others, none. I'm not bothered really, never have been. I might have the very occasional G&T when I'm on holiday, but that's it.

Thepleasureofyourcompany · 30/05/2023 18:56

Around a bottle of wine. A lot less than i used to. Don't drink Mon - Thurs for sure

Bluevelvetsofa · 30/05/2023 18:57

None. Several years since I had an alcoholic drink.

Brumbies · 30/05/2023 18:57

Far too much!

blacksax · 30/05/2023 18:58

Supernova23 · 30/05/2023 17:27

As the question says. In a normal week.

Why are you asking, is something troubling you?

A liver transplant surgeon told me that it was essential to gave at least three days off in a row.

kippymcquick · 30/05/2023 19:00

I don't really drink much anymore but on a rock an roll week I'd have a few glasses of wine at weekend. I find it gives me terrible insomnia for some weird reason

The insomnia is why I stopped!

Hollyppp · 30/05/2023 19:02
