@NoSquirrels
*Oh, she will have known for aaaaages. At the time that she was cuddling him on the sofa during his ‘coming out’ for sure.

And his management will have known, and his friends and family. They all just thought it would go away if ignored long enough. But the court case with his paedophile brother and admitting being complicit in turning a blind eye finally tipped the balance.*

Yes I imagine you're quite right. I wonder if there's much more to come out (excuse the pun Wink)?
He's really fucked up hasn't he.

tallcypowder · 26/05/2023 19:13

How old was he?

00100001 · 26/05/2023 19:15

ODFOx · 26/05/2023 18:47

He had an affair with another consenting adult. FGS the 'mystery' and conjecture has made it far worse than it ever was.
If he'd come clean about the affair when he came out it would be water under the bridge by now.

I'm sure you'd be cool with your son's teacher having sex with your 17 yo. You know the one that taught him from yeah 9? The one that vouched for him to stay in the sixth form.

Yeah that guy

BarelyLiterate · 26/05/2023 19:10

Schofield didn’t use the word ‘grooming’ in his statement. Isn’t that the usual term for an older man pursuing a sexual relationship with someone much younger when there is a significant wealth, power & status imbalance?

He's never going to use that word, is he? He'll just pretend the only thing he did wrong was an extra-marital affair, until there's evidence to the contrary. Like he denied any wrongdoing in other aspects until he couldn't.

Freefall212 · 26/05/2023 19:16

Timeline wise....
Runner was born March 11, 1996
Runner joined the theatre company at age 10, Philip was the patron
First known meeting (via pictures) was May 14th 2011 when Philip visited the theatre company howver runner had created a twitter account in February 2011 and Philip had followed him in March 2011.
Runner tweeted about philip and tagged him on and off over the next few years but Phil did not reply publicly until March 30, 2014 (9 days after runner's 18th birthday) after that however they had back and forth conversations publicly on Twitter.
Runner first appeared on This Morning in July 2014 (4 months after turning 18).
Runner had a first job on This Morning March / April 2015 for 3 weeks - after this the two no longer tweeted each other (likely had moved to phones). Seems this is when the affair started. Runner was just turned 19.
April 2016, runner moved to London and started working for ITV and as Phil's personal assistant. Runner posted pictures on social media of him and Philip together. In march 2017, he posted a picture of himself with Philip and Simon and thanked them for a great night out and for taking him to celebrate his 21st birthday (soit sounds like they were still going strong then)
January 2018 runner went onstage with Phil and Holly when they won an award at the NTA
May 2019 Ruth put in a complaint about the relationship and the runner left This Morning and started working for Loose Women
Jan 2020, runner and Phil were seen in an argument of sorts at the NTA awards and runner was holding hands and hanging out wth a Love Island cast. Clearly it was over by now.

Even his agent doesn't want him - there's more to come.

I thought the same!

BreadInCaptivity · 26/05/2023 19:17

Posted this on the old thread:

Thing is this is not news.

Everyone knew/suspected.

His agency, ITV and people working on This Morning.

IMHO the story is not about PS lying.

It's about all the people around him enabling his lies because it was in their ££ to do so.

Funny how they develop a sense of morality now....when he's "done".

No big thing to drop "talent" that won't be a earning commission any time soon...

That's the BIG scandal here and them running for the hills now doesn't mitigate that.

LindorDoubleChoc · 26/05/2023 19:18

Marginally more creepy than other male stars with their very much younger lovers. Such as David Bowie and John Peel, Mick Jagger (yes, yes I know different times). Stephen Fry, Jeff Goldblum, Michael Sheen, David Tennant, Leonardo di Caprio. And all the teachers on the current thread about teachers and their pupils. Hopefully they'll all get the raised eyebrow at least from now on.

EnjoyingTheSilence · 26/05/2023 19:18

Makes you wonder what else is going to come out. I don’t for a second believe that Holly and the rest of the team didn’t know about it all. It’s been talked about for years and years

JeandeServiette · 26/05/2023 19:18

3AndStopping · 26/05/2023 19:12

There is definitely worse, or why else would he be all of a sudden admitting stuff? Trying to reveal enough so they’ll leave him alone. Gross. Imagine sitting up there acting like a public treasure and being a sneaky, cheating, liar.

Yes, and If he's had to apologise to the DM personally, then they have evidence and can stand the story up. He's in deep trouble and this confession wont be enough to get ahead of it. It's going to be interesting watching this unravel. Everyone in production who has covered for him will be feeling uncomfortable now.

EbonyRaven · 26/05/2023 19:19

I knew it. I also knew when he 'stepped down' from This Morning last week, that we would never see him on ITV again. DH said 'oh he is still gonna be on Dancing On Ice and the Cube and The TV awards etc.' I said 'nope. He won't be on them. I guarantee it. We will never see him on any TV family entertainment show again... Only on news items, and programmes about controversial and disgraced TV stars.'

I was right.

LindorDoubleChoc · 26/05/2023 19:19

And of course Holly knew and was happy to be friends with him.

Greengreented · 26/05/2023 19:20

SophiaElizabethGrace · 26/05/2023 18:38

He's so fecking smug and annoying. Why doesn't he just sod off.

I presume MMs version of events is going to go to the Press this weekend and so slimey Phil has got in there first.

Just for a second I thought, what the heck has Meghan got to do with this story… 😂

Aria2015 · 26/05/2023 19:20

Does is mean anything that the two stories beneath the Schofield article on the daily mail app are related to peodophiles?

NeedToThinkOfOne · 26/05/2023 19:20

Can all the people who said there was no evidence for this and it was all just hearsay come and apologise please?

I don’t think anyone was suggesting there was no evidence, it’s more about waiting for some of the more solid legal statements (such as the one from his now former agent tonight…his daughter is employed by them as Stacey Solomon’s agent, so let’s assume they’ve been working this all out from a timing POV). When families, wives, elderly parents are involved, it’s really gross to be joining in with the gossip. Social media has once again played a huge part in all of this, adults able to communicate with children over a number of years, if we are to believe the timeline. Let’s not ignore this factor whilst some posters are revelling in being right all along.

Clymene · 26/05/2023 19:20

Just to add to @Freefall212's excellent timeline, Schofield was born in 1962. He was FIFTY TWO when the runner turned 18.

JeandeServiette · 26/05/2023 19:20

tallcypowder · 26/05/2023 19:13

How old was he?

Wasn't it established several years ago that the boy was KS3 age (11-13ish?) when PS first made contact with him on social media? Something to do with an acting club?

Oioicaptain · 26/05/2023 19:20

Just the one affair was it, during his one sided 30 year long marriage?

AnneShirleysNewDress · 26/05/2023 19:22

Everyone knew and they were happy to carry on working with him. ITV is rotten to the core.

dayswithaY · 26/05/2023 19:22

The Mail have been onto Simon Schofield (no relation) for a while, they ran a story on his close, supportive friendship with Philip only this week. Wonder what his role is? Fixer? Go between?

Also, well done Ruth Langsford for speaking up when others didn’t.

Papergirl1968 · 26/05/2023 19:22

HotSince82 · 26/05/2023 19:11

The media, in general is a cesspit of degeneracy.
They believe that the social norms don't apply to them, ditto politicians.

Colour me unsurprised.

There's a thousand Schofields within the public domain.
Such a non story.

Are you for real? As posters have said, it's a massive power imbalance.
His career is dead now. No coming back from this.I
And good for the Daily Mail in this case. Of course he only confessed because they were doing an expose. This is probably only the top of the iceberg with regard to grubby PS.

GuitarsUnderTheStars · 26/05/2023 19:23

Holly can pretend she didn’t know but she did. Eamonn, Ruth, Amanda Holden, Dermot, Alison, Rylan etc, they all knew for years, but have been threatened with legal action if they speak openly. Holly knew it was close to officially being reported on so she’s pretending to be all disgusted about it now. She knew and was more that ok with turning a blind eye to keep her job when it suited. MM was groomed as a child. I believe it’s possible, maybe, that nothing sexual happened until he was older, only because Schofield is a calculated predator. There’s a lot more to come out and I think it finally will now.

Sarahconnor1 · 26/05/2023 19:23

Of course ITV execs and Holly knew, FFS. I was aware of it and so were about half of MN.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 26/05/2023 19:23

He admitted lying to his lawyer!
His wife and everyone else
He's lower than a snake
I think he made a statement to the Daily Mail before they went ahead and printed it

dayswithaY · 26/05/2023 19:24

Seems like the Daily Mail do have their uses.
