Things other people eat that you find strange

Inspired by the many threads I’ve seen over the years about foods YOU eat that other people find weird…

What ‘normal’ foods do other people eat that you just can’t get on board with?

For me, it’s pizza and chips. I think it’s such a bizarre combination for a dinner and wouldn’t ever put the two together. Nothing to do with the carb overload (I love garlic bread and lasagne…), I just think they don’t go! DP very much disagrees and says it’s a perfectly normal combo Grin

Mashed potato. Just eew. It’s like eating someone’s vomit 🤢

black pudding. Isn’t it just scabs and blood 🤐

reindeer. Can’t believe the Americans actually eat reindeer

In Alaska it's cultural/regional, but not common elsewhere in the States.

I ate kangaroo in Australia. A few bites were good enough as it was very rich. I also ate some sort of bug in Korea where that was a common snack. Tasted like dirt to me.
Moose is common here up north and I have friends who hunt moose every year and have that in their freezers and never eat beef at home. It's the best meat I've ever tasted.

I can't wrap my head around steak tartare. 🤢

Corned beef. Might as well eat a tin of dog food.

Totally feel the same when I open it! I get the reduced salt Princes, but when mashed with potato and grilled onions, it is the ultimate comfort food! It also is amazing in a pie!

The kiwi skin people were a few pages back, but I'm one of those too. Also vegetarian, so DH has no fears about nocturnal testicle consumption.

Obviously don't eat meat/fish, and avoid the fake versions. I'd probably cry or run away if I went to someone's house for dinner and they served up a fake chicken pie. But back to more mainstream foodstuffs. I really dislike bland comfort foods like macaroni cheese and rice pudding. Rice pudding especially. I'm sure you could make macaroni cheese interesting by smuggling in a few vegetables, but rice pudding is a texture nightmare, like eating sweet vomit.
