Bananas?

The look. The taste. The smell. The feel. Just everything!

Typing this while 9 month old DD is happily shovelling huge bits of banana into her mouth 🤮

Blueberries can also do one. Pleasant looking little things hiding that they're actually a little glob of mucus 🤮

My son is also repulsed, he hates the smell, the noise if someone is eating them. He finds them just gross. He leaves the room when I give one to my dog as they are great for dogs.

Why are they great for dogs @BOOTS52PollyPrissyPants ? My dog will eat pretty much everything including apples but won't touch bananas.

I love trifle 😋

Fgfgfg · 23/04/2023 19:51

I like bananas but left one in my work bag over the Christmas holidays and it burst. Gone off them now.

CountingMareep · 23/04/2023 20:03

I like bananas. Dried banana chips, on the other hand, are dry tasteless teeth-breakers that I would happily ban worldwide. And they do not work in curries!

Plantain bananas are very different from normal ones, more of a starchy vegetable than a sweet fruit dessert.

The worst thing about trifle is ... everything that goes into trifle. It is a combination of the foulest things known to man plopped together to create a giant, squelching mass of horror.

I can’t stand the custard in trifle and can only take the soggy sponge bits if they’re in some fairly solid jelly and well laced with alcohol. I have always, not so much hated trifle as found it permanently disappointing. Ditto with summer pudding and tiramisu, which just looks to me like the chef had an accident with the after-dinner coffee, liqueur and amaretti biscuits.

In fact, I’m not mad about most desserts and the older I get, the more I can do without them.

Deathraystare · 24/04/2023 09:42

No I love them. Especially banana milkshake! I used to eat them at work where I used to work that is, but some secretary complained about the smell .....as she ate boiled eggs!

ALongHardWinter · 25/05/2023 01:44

I must admit I'm not keen on bananas. I wouldn't go so far as to say I absolutely hate them,I mean,I could eat one if it was a matter of life and death! I was really surprised to read somewhere a few months ago that bananas are the biggest-selling fruit in the UK! I was like 😯 I would have thought it would be strawberries,or apples.

someoneisalwaysintheloo · 25/05/2023 01:46

The strings on them are icky

MintyCedric · 25/05/2023 01:54

Like the flavour, cannot bear the texture.

AdaColeman · 25/05/2023 02:08

The worst thing about bananas is when they're packed in a sealed plastic bag, I'm always wary that the bag might also include a large tropical spider, so open it with trepidation!

I like trifle, but blancmange is another matter, just too gelatinous!

Jackienory · 25/05/2023 02:12

What out for the banana spiders ! 🕷️😬

Jackienory · 25/05/2023 02:13

Watch out

Iloveburgerswaymorethanishould · 25/05/2023 04:54

My 3 year old literally vomits if he sees one being eaten or smells one!! It’s kinda odd how much he reacts to them…. I love them though!!

MistyGreenAndBlue · 25/05/2023 09:27

Bananas are slimy? Urrgh. I've never eaten one as even the smell turns my stomach. I now feel totally justified.
