Farting in bed.

Chatting with a close friend a few days ago over a coffee. We've known each other for years so nothings ever off topic.

She was taken aback when i disclosed that for years I've farted in bed and my DH ( who also farts in bed too ) isn't bothered in the slightest.

Would this be a deal breaker for you? Or are you also Teamfartinbed?

If myself and DH left the room to fart we would never be in the same room as each other
That being said a lot of the time they just slip out and it's like oops that was me lol

I LOVE a good fart and the fart as you stretch in the morning is amazing however I do not do it when DP is in the bed and have never farted in front of him. Luckily he is away for work a couple of nights a week and I can fart till my hearts content then. He does fart but for a man they are decidedly more like little pips and dont smell weirdly.

I really really really can’t understand how anyone can think they are really close to anyone special, when you are not comfortable enough to fart in front of one another.

My dp and myself have discussed this over the years, we both agree that people on these relationships really can’t be as close as people in a relationship comfortable enough to be able to fart without embarrassment or judgement.

The person you are sharing your life with, but you can’t fart in front of?

Completely agree.

It must be awful to feel like you can't fart freely in the privacy of your own home because your DH might hear.

Seeing (and hearing) their DC being born must be a shock to some DHs and DWs if they've never heard their partner fart.
I shat myself in labour, never mind farted.

I joked just last night that the only time he stopped snoring was to squeeze out a fart.

He sleeps through my farts but he moans like heck about my snoring. Hmm

Me and DH do it all the time, we find it hilarious. He has the volume and I have the stink. We end up in tears of laughter when I do a silent but deadly and he suddenly disappears into his dressing gown, with it over his face so he can't smell it 😂. Then he turns the fan on to blow it back my way 🤣

Do the non farters refrain from burping, hiccuping and sneezing in front of partners too? Or are those body functions OK?

I can cope with farts but the odd one. My DH has a dodgy belly and I can't stand it. He farts all the time and stinks.

you fart in your sleep everyone does it's a bodily function as is yawning burping etc.

Bizarre you pretend you don't. You obviously know you do.

Granted there's a line between laughing about them and ignoring them but both you and your dh fart.

Burping isn't something either of us would do openly either. It's just grim imo.

I have no control what happens when I'm asleep, who does? We don't fart in bed and laugh about it when we're awake. Just because it's different to how you behave doesn't make me a liar.

I don’t purposefully burp or do anything like that - obviously sometimes somethings slip out and that is fine (including I guess at night when we/I are not awake) - but for someone I actually want to have sex with to think it’s ok to let rip in all areas I think it’s deeply unpleasant. I’ve been in stages with DH - he showered me post c section etc… and I’m deeply comfortable with him but Jesus - keep something sacred. I imagine a lot of the dual farters shit with the door open as well 🤮
