I'm on holiday with my boyfriend of 2 years.
It's meant to be a romantic holiday
Had a brilliant morning
Then he talks to anyone
He started talking to this couple with their kids
All afternoon he has chatted with them
I have sat there -he hasn't said a word
He's organising to meet them tonight and keep spaces around the pool tomorrow

I said I'm going to room to have a shower
He has stated writhed the pool with them

I'm not excited for the few days ahead now
Am I being silly ?
I don't want to spend my holiday with strangers
I'm just not that type of person

He's being quite selfish & inconsiderate as you have every right to enjoy the kind of holiday that you want & maybe need. It's your holiday as well! Not just his.
Perhaps you could compromise & let him be as social and as extroverted as he needs to be, while you do your best to enjoy part of the day solo, then spend some point of the day with him.
Then after the holiday reassess the relationship & decide if you want to be with a total extrovert and if you do, might be an idea to do separate holidays.
Good luck!

We'll probably never find out. I get far too invested in some of these threads and never hear of the outcome! 🤦‍♀️

It's just rude after people took the time to reply

No one owes you an update. She asked for advice/opinions, and she got it.

Thanks Katherine, i think so too! I think it's only human nature to want to know what happened.

Just basic manners

Are you really that invested in an absolute stranger’s life? I hope the OP isn’t coming back because she’s having a nice, relaxing holiday.

Hi I'm really sorry I haven't updated in a while
I was trying to have a nice holiday -turned my phone off and put it in the safe.
He really apologised the next day and spent the rest of the holiday being a normal decent human.
The family didn't spend much time in our resort after that day so we just did our own thing.
He said he knew he was behaving like a prick and got too drunk.
He drank too much in 35 degree heat ,drank for 8 hours with no water etc
We ended up having a lovely time thankfully
I do appreciate all your advice
Last Thursday I wanted to jump on a plane home

All's well that ends well. As long as he has learnt his lesson and redeemed himself. Just glad you had a lovely time in the end. X

GMOOH2023 · 05/04/2023 09:25

Glad it all calmed down and that you have had a lovely time.

Planesmistakenforstars · 05/04/2023 11:56

Glad he owned it and you both enjoyed the rest of your holiday.

The family didn't spend much time in our resort after that day

Can't think why😂

Topseyt123 · 05/04/2023 12:42

Glad he recognised his mistake, apologised and you were able to salvage the rest of the holiday.

Hope he keeps it in mind for the future and doesn't repeat the behaviour.

Yiayoula · 05/04/2023 13:04

Yellow card , OP ?
Thank goodness he acknowledged his poor behaviour , apologised and you were both able to enjoy your time away .
Wishing you all the best for the future .

LOL not surprised and it pretty much proves what others suggested that he was intruding, despite some posters insisting he had admirable "social skills" and it was completely normal to intrude on someone else's family holiday.

Really glad you had a better time and he apologised

I agree.

Those poor people having to avoid that drunken pillock by staying away from the hotel.

What a twat.
