NC’d for this as very outing but been here a long time!!

We are going on holiday on Monday to a large holiday home, we have invited 17 people, a mix from both mine and DH’s side, including both sets of grandparents…

It seemed like a fun and nice thing to do at the time but the closer we are getting the more I’m starting to think oh shit, what have we done!!!!

In the mix we have a some very strong feminists, A no shits given, straight talking lady with a slight alcohol problem, a camp chain smoking gay person, an autistic child, a grandad with a knack for inappropriate jokes and a couple with no sense of humour who like to talk about the past all the time and hate things being out of their control.

I love them all dearly but we are going to live to regret this for the rest of our lives aren’t we?!

Can I join you ?! I can be the vegan Terf addition! 🍷

Well we are on our way, kids have boxes of wind on their lap and DH is deathly quiet and has a look of “oh shit what have we done” about him.

I think you should first plan what YOU , the hosts want from this holiday and make sure that happens first. The rest can muck in or muck off.

I have autism. I didn’t take any of the list as negative including the reference to autism, just an interesting mix for a holiday together. I am straight so can’t comment on whether what OP has said is homophobic. It is something I might say in this context as it is relevant to how this group will interact.

OP has simply listed the range of people who will be attending.

There's no homophobia or ableism.

Is anyone else a tiny bit anxious that we haven't heard from the OP since she arrived at the holiday destination? Hopefully it's just lack of good wifi, but the over-dramatic side of me is wondering if the murder mystery has already kicked off and the murderer has isolated the whole group from the outside world.

I want to know how many of those 17 actually come back alive and/or in one piece and how many get left under the patio.

It sounds like a script idea for a Channel 5 comedy - or drama.
