I feel like a bit of a man. For me:

Men pissing by the side of the road. I have see this twice in the past few days, yet there were public loos close by. If a woman did this people would question her sanity, or at the very least think she was undignified yet for men it's considered normal.

Men going shirtless in public. Do what you like in your own garden, but why walk down the high street etc without a shirt. It's never that hot in England - in fact some much hotter climates actually have dignity laws that prohibit both men and women from even showing their arms or legs. Plus you know, sun burn.

Smoking. I hate walking behind someone who is smoking, it blows back in the face of the person behind and gives me a headache. It's unhealthy, expensive and should just be banged in public full stop imo.

I've thought of another one - heightism. You can't do anything about your height so don't be nasty to people because they are too tall, or more likely, smaller than average.

Botw1 · 26/03/2023 12:35

Drag

Grown adults being scared of using a phone to speak.

Women martyring themselves to their children

Men thinking housework/childcare is womens work.

Women voluntarily making themselves financially vulnerable

Raising girls to think their only purpose is to attract a man and be in a relationship

Porn

Botw1 · 26/03/2023 12:38

Fat phobia

Benefits as a lifestyle choice

Over cleaning of things and self

Self diagnosing of autism/adhd etc

Myyearmytime · 26/03/2023 12:41

Women telling men how to dress.

Women telling other women the way they dress is disgusting.

We all have the right to dress how want in uk .
Apart from walking around naked .
I think we should all respect that .

That having autism/insert any other similar disorder is now an excuse for any rude/inappropriate/bad behaviour.

Not an excuse, a reason. So you want me to hide my autism because it offends you? Why not focus on how lucky you are to be neurotypical. You are offensive.

Chilloutsnow · 26/03/2023 12:50

@MrsSlocombesCat

It is not an excuse to be rude actually.

TBF there are NTs who do use it as an excuse to be rude etc

Chilloutsnow · 26/03/2023 13:19

@SouthCountryGirl

How does that work then for an NT? You know people who have to take responsibility for when they’re being, lazy, rude…. Insert any other undesirable quality here.

Nar, people use their privately paid for ADHD diagnosis as an excuse all the time, and then they’ll get their kids diagnosed too so they don’t need to face up to the consequences of their poor parenting.

Farce.

Speaking in a different language to those around you.
Using disposable nappies
Using electric clothes driers
Filling normal lips with plastic
Getting a baby's ears pierced
Eyebrow and tongue piercing
Eating while walking in the street
Drinking beer directly out of a bottle

DragonbornMum · 26/03/2023 13:50

People walking around on the phone with it on speaker. Like you already have your arm raised... is it too much trouble to raise it mere millimeters further to reach your ear so the rest of us don't have to hear both sides of your conversation???!?

And also smoking.

woodhill · 26/03/2023 14:28

Hmm1234 · 26/03/2023 08:37

Talking over the fence to your neighbour

Isn't that normal and traditional depending on where you live etc

If both parties are happy?

whynotwhatknot · 26/03/2023 15:03

i really dont understand the speakerphone thing-theyre both shouting at each other why do i want to hear that

kc431 · 26/03/2023 15:05

People who have their cat/dog jumping all over them in Teams calls - I wouldn’t do a Teams call with my husband jumping on my lap, it’s so unprofessional!

People who have 3+ kids then moan that they’re poor/tired/life is so hard. What did you expect? Do a bit of research before undertaking the biggest decision of your life.

Smoking, drinking and drug-taking - it’s become so normalised to the point you are seen as weird and a killjoy if you don’t take part. I love house music, always have, yet have never touched drugs. Everyone assumes I must do them all the time and is genuinely confused/shocked that I don’t. If you really love and enjoy something you shouldn’t need extra substances to heighten it IMO, plus I have way too much anxiety and would rather not. I don’t have a go at people for doing drugs or drinking so why the other way round?

Ineke · 26/03/2023 15:06

I work in the theatre where we have to request each customer not to film or take photos of the performers and performance. It is illegal and very important, not only is it a distraction to other audience members but also to the actors and performers. There are very many reasons why this is requested apart from the disturbance to others in the area of the culprit such as copyright, child protection for children’s performances amongst many. Even though they have been told not to do this, and it is not allowed people still do…why? People going to the theatre need to learn audience etiquette and turn your phone off or on silent for a couple of hours, and please don’t look at your phone instead of what you have paid to watch.

SoTiredOfAllTheSh17 · 26/03/2023 15:10

The need for alcohol and drunk behaviour
Weed smoking
Dogs everywhere in shops/cafes etc and running up to people.
Men going topless or wearing vest tops with beer belly and hairy backs on display
Cats wandering everywhere and shitting in your flowerbeds
kids on iPads with the volume at full blast in public spaces, cafes, waiting areas and the parents ignoring it
Wearing pjs and slippers in public at supermarket oh and those stupid huge hair curlers
Drag acts
Wearing Lycra gym stuff all the time especially the tiny bra type tops

kc431 · 26/03/2023 15:13

Oh yeah and dogs 😅I’m allergic and hate the fact they’re in shops/cafes

JustDanceAddict · 26/03/2023 15:27

Neighbours who have no consideration for their own neighbours - cf. barking dogs all day:night & excessive weed smoking.

spitting - idk but this is a totally male related thing.

drivers that just stop in the middle of the side road / pull in if you’re lost,

Chuggers - esp ones who come to your door.

hippyroses · 26/03/2023 15:29

I know of people in that category who were financially well off then unforeseen events have meant they're living in reduced financial circumstances, and with little or no support. Death, divorce, failing business and bankruptcy.

JustDanceAddict · 26/03/2023 15:31

People who say ‘I can’t stay long cos I have to get back for the dog’ - what’s gonna happen to the dog if you’re out for 5 instead of 4 hours or get it looked after esp if you’ve had several weeks’ notice of an event.

Also: eating cheap factory farmed meat. Honestly makes me despair of humanity

Really??? In todays world that's what make you worried about humanity

This is me right now, if we have plans I do get a sitter but unfortunately once my extremely large puppy gets to about 3.5 hrs he thinks the sofa is fair game to be eaten. We are working on it but if it was am adhoc popping out for coffee or something then I possibly would say this. I hate that I have to though and like I say make arrangements whenever possible.

It's a regular occurrence in my family, and believe me, if that annoys you, I hope you don't have a dog...
Many of us have dogs and are well aware of the implications of leaving them for longer than normal. And you don't want to have to clean it up if you don't have to.
Besides, it's code for 'I'm bored of your company and I'd actually rather be with my dog...' or cat...

Before I had a dog it would really annoy me, I think I assumed they were like cats and you could just put some food and water and a puppy pad out lol. I never bargained for a pup with severe separation anxiety then no2 pup deciding to trash the house. No1 pup is now fine being left in the company or No2 so I guess that's something as previously we couldn't even leave him 10 mins without him being extremely distressed to the point that it impacted his breathing.

I would never judge anyone saying they had to get back for their animals now,I feel stupid I ever did.
