Noooo NOT Bake Off

Just heard Alison Hammond is to co host Bake Off. Totally ruined it for me now. Bad enough when Mel and Sue left. I’m not sure Mr Hollywood is going to appreciate the competition.

She’ll be great, they need someone who can emotionally connect with the contestants and she will.

@Mrsjayy But their presenting skills are the most important factor, not their ethnicity. It’s unfair to set someone up for failure by putting them in a position that they’re not experienced in/suited to, simply because of their ethnicity.

Alison Hammond has presenting experience and a bubbly personality so she could be a good Bake Off presenter. Only time will tell.

Aren’t they just. I don’t know what they hate more, that she’s a black woman, a big woman or a noisy woman taking up space in the media and having success.

Slightly off topic and maybe already mentioned up thread, but Junior Bake Off is far more watchable than the grown up version these days. Liam and Rav are the best judges and the contestants all work together really well (going back a few years Nadiya, Sam and Mark and even James Martin at one point have all been on the junior version as presenters/judges, all brilliant with the children).

Alison Hammond will hopefully bring a change to the show, which has not been as good in recent years- more due to the contestants than the judges or presenters, IMHO.

I'm a huge JBO fan. Even Paul Hollywood was great when he stood in for Liam once. The kids are always brilliant.

I quite like Alison Hammond. Then again, when I think of her I always think of that time she fell and accidentally pushed a model into a river. It was brilliant.

Oh what a surprise. If someone says they don't like a person they have to be jealous or racist.

I really could not care less what colour she is. I think Nadiya would be brilliant and she is, I believe, black. Also I love Liam in Junior Bake Off but maybe I am only meant to be racist to black women?

As to her weight well I am pretty large so I wouldn't care about that.

I do though dislike women or men who are so full of themselves they try and take over any show they are on. Also ones that are fake with fake laugh that could break the sound barrier

I think do 2 series with Alison then have a big reunion and end the whole thing. It's been going on so long now.
