Noooo NOT Bake Off

Just heard Alison Hammond is to co host Bake Off. Totally ruined it for me now. Bad enough when Mel and Sue left. I’m not sure Mr Hollywood is going to appreciate the competition.

Oh and just to add I didn't say there was a racist post, a poster said were they not allowed to dislike ah without being called racist. I replied that of course they were but for some people it would be about racism.

Once again try and actually read what was written without trying to tie yourselves in knots trying to prove that there isn't any racism when a person of colour is appointed to a high profile presenting role

As @SirChenjins said, you have STILL provided no proof of any 'racist posts' on this thread, and that is because you CAN'T because there aren't any.

@DannyZukosSmile how have I been backed into a corner? Are you unable to read and understand my previous posts or are you just hell bent on preventing a discussion on racism? Does it have to be overt before you understand it?

To be really really clear so that you can try have the slightest understanding. None of us know the reasons behind all the posts that don't want her, some will be because they genuinely don't like her but some will be because she is a person of colour

I've tried to explain that as simply as I can for you, which reading the tone of the latter part of you post I think you might need

So Ive already asked generally but I suppose aiming my query more at those who think that the reason people dont like Hammond might be due to her colour..... whats the reason people constantly slag off Paul H and Matt L?

I remember lots of posters going on and on about Matt's weight loss and that he looked really ill. I think Matt was a classic case of loud personality toning it down for Bake Off and then people not liking it.

I never disliked Matt but I don't think Bake Off was the right gig for him. I think I read that Noel got Matt the job on Bake Off.

There's a US baking show that has Andrew Smyth from season 7 as the presenter and he's great! I'd like to see him and Nadiya as hosts on bakeoff but the format of the show has always seemed to be to have comedian hosts.

Well maybe not having a heart attack or type 2 diabetes will suit them?

There are other reasons for losing weight at any age besides 'looking good'.

It's odd that people just decide they won't like her in this role without actually seeing her in the job.

I think that perhaps their health was more of a reason to lose weight than how other people would think they look.

She lives in the same village as my relative. She is so down to earth and normal. Yes she is a bit loud but I think she will be good. Nadia is a Baker so don't think she would be good as they don't need her opinion as have Paul and Pru.

Yes! Im losing weight at the moment, its aging me because Im much older but hopefully my blood pressure, blood sugars, cholesterol and joints will thank me over my saggy wrinkled face!!!

I will watch at least the first one to see how she is BUT if she is like she has been on everything I have seen her in I know for certain I won't like her.

I disliked her in Big Brother, can't watch This Morning when she is on cackling away. Disliked her on Master Chef and I love Master Chef. I didn't find it funny in the slightest that she couldn't stop eating everything she cooked. Really disliked her in the programme she did where they were meant to lose weight by cutting out sugar and she was getting up in the night and stealing food and thinking it was hilarious.

I watched one episode of I can see your voice and she annoyed me so much I didn't watch any more.

She is the same over the top, LOOK AT ME, screecher in every programme she has ever been in

It seems unlikely she will tone it down. Surely if the makers of the programme wanted someone quiet they would never have chosen her?
