Can people please keep me distracted.

My mum is dying. I’m on the train trying to get to her with my DDs. She’s waiting for me. Can people please help me stay distracted. I’m trying to not be a blubbering mess in front of everyone.

I never had a cat so I can't speak from personal experience but I should think it's very much down to their individual personalities. The first dog we had alongside my buns we introduced the day we brought her home, and she immediately accepted them as part of the pack. She loved them and was always just gently interested in them. They could free range around each other. Then we got my current dog, again as a puppy, introduced them and from that first minute she just went into predator mode. There was no way she could have interacted so I just kept them totally separate. Does your cat bring home small furry things or is she a more laid back lap-cat type?

He did start to bring small little birds - dead from their nest 😫- I screamed so loud , he didn’t do it again 🙄

he’s not laid back, rescue cat in survival mode … he’s attacking me when I’m sleeping 🙄

How would you get food though? I can totally imagine Canary Wharf as zombie infested 🤐

My mind is a bit boggled.
Oh - tower blocks? Or rotas?

Would you be at work tomorrow otherwise OP?
If so, what do you do?

I'd have all my tins and then I'd take a drive with some neighbours to raid the b and m. They have everything. Id kit my loft out with all their cushion aisle

If you had a cat, op, any idea of some names you’d choose? My Birman was originally called Hugo Taratyn Omar the third (Not. By. Me). He’s now called Sarrie by me (Saracens rugby supporter) but mostly called arsehole by my dh (often cleans up after him). Any names of choice for bunnies, horses and cats? Really hope that you get to your mum soon (been in a similar situation) - wishing you strength x

I’m a historian. Technically I’m at work but I’m on research leave so don’t have anybody asking where I am.
