My mum is dying. I’m on the train trying to get to her with my DDs. She’s waiting for me. Can people please help me stay distracted. I’m trying to not be a blubbering mess in front of everyone.

No pets at the moment. We had two lovely bunnies that passed away a few years ago. I would get some more in a heartbeat bur DH is resisting it.

Oooo I have rabbits! My favourite animals. Much more characterful and intelligent than people realise. Were yours indoors or outdoors?

Now the 'family' are watching a very stupid Korean reality 'squid games' type TV programme - at least in this series noone dies, 100 people start and are doing very very boring tasks where half of them are eliminated after each task....

I didn't care much for gaming with squid series. They dressed in funny robes tho

Is there something interesting on Monde 5?

I'm so sorry to read this. Handhold from all the way over in Australia Flowers
Do you have any funny/embarrassing stories that stick out in your memory of when your DD's were little?

Good one! Love funny child stories

My DGP's used to tie my uncle to the drainpipe when he was playing in the garden when he was young because he kept escaping! This was back in the 60's 😂

This is pup's preferred means of exit from the house. It's only a matter of time until we have to call the fire brigade to extricate her...

Oh bless her, yes she will get bigger and bigger, and then... If there is a cat involved, won't he/she deter her?

Englishash · 01/03/2023 20:46

Dammit ! Forgot to clock the colour of their socks !

God I’m dim. I had to read that a couple of times.

Sending a handhold

No cats now, so unfettered access to the cat flap. It's a disaster waiting to happen Grin

For some reason the grossest (if that’s a word) experience comes to mind from when DD1 was a toddler. She had diarrhoea in her sleep. It went everywhere. All up the walls, in her hair. When she woke up she thought it was chocolate. Scrubbing poop off walls at 3am wasnt the best parenthood experience.

Not sure. Rabbit poop is great—solid, not too smelly. It can roll away from yiu though

What I wasn’t aware of is how bad rabbit we is. It’s really sticky and stinks. Stains stuff really badly.

But they were so cute. I’ve warned DH that he’s going to go out one day and come home to some bunnies in the house. I’ve also warned him he may come home to a horse in the garden….it’s only a matter of time.

Thinking of you Op. I’ve been in nearly similar situation with my late DM. Sending strength and love.

For distraction purposes you can’t beat the Fundie Snark subreddit. There are some absolute wallies out there.

If that’s not your bag, here’s my favourite joke.

A woman walks into a cocktail bar, looks at the menu and orders a “Double Entendre”.
So the bartender gives her one.

Ba dum tish.

Mylittlepea · 01/03/2023 20:57

So sorry you are going through this, it’s tough. I’m watching Love it or List it with Kirsty & Phil and drooling over some of the lovely homes they are viewing. How come they look so perfect and mine looks like a bomb has gone off 🧐😳🤷🏼‍♀️ who lives in these perfect houses FFS?

I never had a cat so I can't speak from personal experience but I should think it's very much down to their individual personalities. The first dog we had alongside my buns we introduced the day we brought her home, and she immediately accepted them as part of the pack. She loved them and was always just gently interested in them. They could free range around each other. Then we got my current dog, again as a puppy, introduced them and from that first minute she just went into predator mode. There was no way she could have interacted so I just kept them totally separate. Does your cat bring home small furry things or is she a more laid back lap-cat type?

No one. That's who

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 01/03/2023 21:00

Ooooh Op, I like horses too. Maybe you could fit one of these tiny efforts in your garden?

Mini horses, many mini horses

Englishash · 01/03/2023 21:01

Give me a house with dogs, cats and rabbits in the front room and a horse in the garden any day of the week. Chuck in the odd woodchuck and Bob is indeed your fathers brother.

I think we’d have to move out to have any chance of keeping a house tidy. It’s got a ‘lived in’ vibe.

They’re cute.DH complains he didn’t sign up for the horsey stuff. In fairness I wasn’t riding when we got together.
