If you won the EuroMillions, what would be the first thing you'd actually go out and buy?

As per title, imagine you've somehow suddenly just come into a huge amount of money. What would be the first thing you'd go out and buy? Not talking about houses, cars etc. as all that will come with time. Also assuming that you are going to donate a healthy portion to charity and those you know who need it. I mean the first thing you're actually going to leave the house and spend money on for yourself?

I would go to the nearest nice department store and buy every permutation of the Chanel perfume products so all the soap, body creams, talc, sprays etc. and a big bottle of each eau de parfum. Would probably buy a nice bottle of champagne too but still be too scared to buy Cristal or the like!

I'd go and buy my parents a lovely house.
They live in a semi with noise problems from their neighbours and it's always been a source of misery for them.

Then id go and buy a flash car!

Id also like to give money to cats protection because I LOVE cats.

And id like to set up a care home for my autistic brother that I could run when my parents are no longer around.

GlassBunion · 08/02/2023 11:16

A couple of original paintings by a couple of artists whose prints are eye watering in price ( to me anyway.)

billycat321 · 08/02/2023 11:17

Make sure my kids had mortgage-free houses. Daughter is living with her husband in a converted horsebox and son is living in mum-in-law's 3 bed council house with partner and 3 little girls. And probably replace my 20 year old car (which passed its MOT yesterday.!) And large donations to all those charities that advertise on daytime TV

Dolphinnoises · 08/02/2023 11:18

I’d go online and book us all into a fantastic hotel for the weekend

AuntieStella · 08/02/2023 11:18

A huge bunch of flowers

(from the new independent florist down the road)

BellatrixLestrangesHeatedCurlers · 08/02/2023 11:22

Go into Harrods and buy one of everything, just for a laugh. Buy everything from One Hundred Stars and sit around looking like Godmother from Fleabag.

SeaToSki · 08/02/2023 11:23

I would book one of those castles you can rent in Scotland and invite all my extended family for a weeks holiday with a chef and activities etc

then I would book a week at the Savoy in one of their fancy suites with a butler for DH and I to recover after the insanity of a week with extended family

then I would crack open some champagne and get a takeaway

newtb · 08/02/2023 11:29

A nice house to escape my cold rented hovel in SW France - bitterly cold atm. Preferably with a décent sized pool that you can use all year

A new car maybe the latest captur with a diesel engine I can find. Or a Dacia Duster.

A pair of Maine Coon kittens.

Some delcor settees.

A big donation to caba

A personal trainer and personal chef.

I'd take my daughter to Hobbycraft and give her £5,000 and tell her not to leave any change.

Awww 🥰

I'd take my two disabled children and get them the best lightest superduperest wheelchairs with electric wheels as opposed to the clunky nhs chairs

If I win the lottery I’ll buy them for you x

Phos · 08/02/2023 11:44

I would drive straight to my nearest David Lloyd and sign up. It's not close enough to be worth it now because it's almost an hour's drive away but since I wouldn't have to work and could spend all day there if I wanted to, it would be brilliant.

Then once I'd lose a stone or two I'd be off to my preferred Macarthur Glen to buy an outfit from every single shop.

Needmorelego · 08/02/2023 11:46

I would buy an actual decent quality coat and shoes.
(Then go home via the Lego Store.....)

Whatsthisthing · 08/02/2023 11:51

PuttingDownRoots · 08/02/2023 10:04

One of the ridiculously large lego sets and have it sent to my mother.

Shes always said she would buy me the hogwarts castle if she won big so I'd return the favour!

Oh I’d want Lego too. What a good idea

ChickenMaths · 08/02/2023 11:52

I like how much Lego features in plans

Indian takeaway from our local award-winning and wonderful but very expensive restaurant. One of everything.

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 08/02/2023 11:56

Plane tickets to an island location with a villa on the beach, one of 5hose ones where you can swim right up to it.

Me, DH and DD would stay there eating tropical fruit, swimming, reading and relaxing till we have had enough and then come home and start making decisions about the rest of our lives.

Piffpaffpoff · 08/02/2023 11:57

I’d be straight on the train to our nearest Apple Store to buy everyone in the house a new phone/iPad/AirPods/MacBook whatever. Then I’d stop at the bike shop on the way home and get an electric bike. That’s be enough for day 1!

FenghuangHoyan · 08/02/2023 11:57

I'd pay off my house and then buy a detached. I'd put some money aside for my kids. I would see what my parents wanted for their last couple of years and I'd take my dad on holiday (mum mum no longer wants to go). I'd buy a new car and one for my parents and some treats for my cats. I dont drink, so it wouldn't be alcohol, but a fancy chinese meal would be great.

Oh and an Xbox 1 and new PC and new bed and and and :)

BellePeppa · 08/02/2023 11:57

Apart from buying a house in my ideal area (not in the U.K.) and setting my kids up in properties, and giving to family and friends etc there isn’t really anything material I’d want to go out and buy. The things I’d prefer to spend it on would be stuff like the best concert seats (anywhere in the world), certain sport competitions (olympics etc) to follow my favourite sport around the world etc, stuff like that.

NortieTortie · 08/02/2023 11:59

Ooh the very first thing probably would be a house 🤣 I wouldn't want to spend anything until I had that down and furnished!

After that, I'd kit out a whole library room (despite preferring ebooks) with a massive fluffy beanbag and a rotating wall with snacks and drinks.

Let the kids have their own rooms decorated how they like. A 'mancave' for DH and a catio for the cats! Then I'll see everyone at dinner when the chef has prepared 3 different meals (+1 for the cat).

Needmorelego · 08/02/2023 12:02

@ChickenMaths I would definitely need to buy a house before I go too crazy with the Lego as I would want to have a massive Lego room with a Lego train and a giant city.
Need the space first.

slowquickstep · 08/02/2023 12:02

Private jet to my favourite sunshine destination.

mynewname25 · 08/02/2023 12:03

oh iv thought about this loads 😁

Firstly it would be a takeaway or nice meal out. Then id book a luxury two week break where we'd sit down and discuss how we'd go about spending our millions.

ahhh, the dream.

Minikievs · 08/02/2023 12:05

Boob job, teeth done, fanny tuck
Appreciate that makes me sound horribly shallow 😂

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 08/02/2023 12:05

I'd walk down to the travel agent on the High Street and book a massive Disneyland/Universal package with all the bells and whistles they do.

It wouldn't be my idea of a nice holiday but the kids are desperate for it.
