If you won the EuroMillions, what would be the first thing you'd actually go out and buy?

As per title, imagine you've somehow suddenly just come into a huge amount of money. What would be the first thing you'd go out and buy? Not talking about houses, cars etc. as all that will come with time. Also assuming that you are going to donate a healthy portion to charity and those you know who need it. I mean the first thing you're actually going to leave the house and spend money on for yourself?

I would go to the nearest nice department store and buy every permutation of the Chanel perfume products so all the soap, body creams, talc, sprays etc. and a big bottle of each eau de parfum. Would probably buy a nice bottle of champagne too but still be too scared to buy Cristal or the like!

A bottle of champagne!!

On my way to buy a new car :)

Iwantabloodypizza · 08/02/2023 12:12

Everything Item of clothing I own is patched up, Just has hools in or is years old. even my leggings. I promise myself each month that I will at least go to primark and buy two pairs of cheap leggings, but something else always comes up and everything is gone.

So, a pile of cheap black leggings.

magicstar1 · 08/02/2023 12:13

I'd book a huge private villa in Spain, and bring over the whole family while we decide what to do with the money.

ToriLynn · 08/02/2023 12:13

The first thing would be to order a specific car that I want, but I'd go buy a very good/newish second hand car for the interim. But an actual item would probably be a Disney loungefly bag 🥰 I've seen so many cute ones but I can't justify £70 on a bag

Twizbe · 08/02/2023 12:26

A beautiful designer handbag and pair of shoes. A classic pair of black court shoes.

Rowthe · 08/02/2023 12:28

I would quit my job and just breathe for a while.

Id need to get my bearings before I spend any of it.

MrsElm · 08/02/2023 12:29

I won last night!

£2.80 🙌🥳😊

So a big bar of Galaxy 😋

Two weeks in a luxury spa ... on my own Grin.

Me too!

And then a flat/house for each of our DC to move into asap 🤣

TeaAndStrumpets · 08/02/2023 12:29

I would rent a large storage unit and invite adult dc to use it instead of asking me to house their stuff. I don't mind, really, but could do with the space!

MrsElm · 08/02/2023 12:30

Apologies, did not mean to put all those empty lines in. Screen kept jumping!

LER83 · 08/02/2023 12:31

After a takeaway/champagne I would buy a kitten or 2 (or 3)! Weve already got 2 cats and a dog, but whole family wants another cat (and dog but we would get a dog after we had bought a new house!) But due to dh just starting up his own business he won't let us get one until he has a regular income, so a lottery win would sort that!!

TragicMuse · 08/02/2023 12:34

Theunamedcat · 08/02/2023 10:14

The very first thing I would do? Before ANYTHING else? turn the heating ON

Absolutely!

hannonle · 08/02/2023 12:37

A takeaway to celebrate!

Then, assuming I'd have to go to claim it (its in Watford, isn't it?) I'd hire a chauffeur to take me cos I hate driving.

Nat6999 · 08/02/2023 12:40

A house, I've been in social housing since my marriage ended & would love to own my own home again.

Boob job, teeth done, fanny tuck
Appreciate that makes me sound horribly shallow 😂

Roaring at "fanny tuck". May it be beautiful and expensive.

Paddingtonsmarmlade · 08/02/2023 12:44

A nice holiday for half term.

NameChangePoP · 08/02/2023 12:46

I'd take the children out shopping.
My DS I would take to Smyths Toys and let him go wild, and the DD's I would take into town (and the Apple Shop) and let them buy whatever they wanted!

SirSamVimesCityWatch · 08/02/2023 12:47

Ooh I've just thought of another one (on a roll now) I'd book a week in one of the centre parcs treehouses - just to get us started on holidays, as I don't mind going to centreparcs in my current fatty state, but I'd like to have some work done and drop a few stone before doing anything really fancy!

Shade17 · 08/02/2023 12:48

More cars as the absolute top priority!

Princessglittery · 08/02/2023 12:48

@ChickenMaths I respectfully disagree about houses.

Rightmove is one of my frequently visited websites, I have for several years converted a property that recently came up for sale and is currently sold STC. It’s not the house but the land, location and potential to build myself the perfect apartment. I would be offering what ever it took to buy it and would write a cheque for £5m (asking price) on day 1 if I could.

torquewench · 08/02/2023 12:49

A new motorbike 🏍
Also a new helmet with my own paint job, and new clobber. The spendier heated stuff for winter, too.

alfagirl73 · 08/02/2023 12:49

A long holiday to just get away, clear my head and take my time simply processing the win etc... before making any big decisions.

siroodlesofnoodles · 08/02/2023 12:51

A holiday immediately so that I could think about my new found fortune..

Probably the Caribbean tomorrow morning, Barbados is quite nice in February

In Barbados I would spend my days drinking champagne and selecting my new car

I wouldn't move house, I already live in a nice house. I'd redo the decor though and bring in a high end interior designer

Diddlediddlehey · 08/02/2023 12:52

Shoes- a pair of black sketchers would be great for work and helping me not have soaking feet when it's raining.

Heating on, a big fill the fridge to bursting point food shop. I'd donate several shops to our local food bank whilst I was there.

I wouldn't want to move or change my job - I'm very boring. 😅i would love to make the house more upto date though- a new boiler (ours only works if you put the heating on), a new bathroom not one from 1982, carpet finally on the stairway and pretty tiles for the hallway floor. Ooo a sofa!! We don't have one at the moment - it would be lovely not to sit and watch TV on a dining chair...I'd get a fancy but small wooden climbing frame for the kids in the garden, a proper not a caravan holiday abroad all inclusive..ahhh a girl can dream 😫

Muchxperience · 08/02/2023 12:55

There are over 140 children's hospices in the UK.I would give most of it to them.
