Even when you know that if the UK had still been in the EU, the UK regulator would have been able to take this decision on its own because EU law already allows it?

It's not up to the regulator to make political decisions on whether we join a vaccine alliance or not.

So then you agree that the UK could have done the same vaccination program whilst in the EU?

Ofcourse the UK was in the transistion period

Shouldn't the question now be: what would be the benefits to rejoining the EU?

March 2020
Brexit means coronavirus vaccine will be slower to reach the UK

This aged well:
The UK has already withdrawn from the EU’s emergency bulk-buying mechanism for vaccines and medicines, under which member states strike collective agreements with pharmaceutical companies, which speeds up their access to the latest products during a crisis.

Feb 2021
Catherine West, the Labour Party’s shadow Europe minister [currently Shadow Minister for Asia and the Pacific] said [her] 2020 message condemning the U.K.’s decision to opt out of the bloc-wide program to buy and distribute vaccines had now “proven to be wrong.”

West initially responded to a report on Britain’s move ... by tweeting: “Dumber and dumber.”

If Johnson was having an affair during her cancer treatment, would that have made a difference for you?

He was having an affair with Jennifer Acuri not Petronella Wyatt. He has had so many, I had lost count. But Kier stated he had a Korma when he really had a vindaloo, this is what is really concerning.

Well, a one off like Major's can be excused

A 'one off'?
His affair lasted four years.

So @ Clavinova you claim the UK covid vaccination is a Brexit benefit?

In my opinion, yes - for the reasons given above.

I must say I am a bit mystified by how my having my first and subsequent covid vaccines later than friends in EU countries of similar age and health is a benefit, but I suppose I am probably missing something obvious.

I suggest you start a thread on the topic, or would you like me to?

How old are you? Which EU countries?

Why me? I don't want to rejoin the EU!

When is Ireland going to join the EU?

Edited

They failed the EU standards, maybe they would pass the lower UK standards?

Unless you prefer a race to the bottom?

Maybe you could answer the thread question then and list the Brexit benefits.

According to you so far

  1. Covid vaccination
3.

Why don't you read the answers already given on multiple Brexit threads? You should be the one starting a rejoin thread - you're Dutch, not British - persuade us to rejoin.

caringcarer · 29/10/2023 16:54

The UK economy might not be strong but it's stronger than the Eurozone. Czech and German economies are in recession. The UK is not on recession. The IMF predicted the UK would be in recession but it didn't happen. They got it wrong again along with the BoE and it's consistently gloomy predictions. I think their last 3 predictions have been wrong.

People are risking their lives crossing the channel to get away from the shithole of the EU.

😂😂😂

Have no idea what he's doing.
Wouldn't be surprised if he's enjoying his 30 pieces of silver gained for dragging the whole country in the shithole for the benefit of his pals in the City.

He's on GB news. Boris is apparently going to be on it too.

No need for me to persuade you with so many benefits listed.

BeyondMyWits · 29/10/2023 17:10

My daughter (student on overseas placement) learned how to do paperwork on her own, in a foreign country, in a language she couldn't quite read, to get residency (that she didn't need to do a few months earlier).

So benefits of resilience and independence... at a push...

Clavinova · 29/10/2023 17:10

No need for me to persuade you

Your loss then - we've already left the EU.

ElleCapitaine · 29/10/2023 17:12

There is one benefit. Do you remember when Remainers were complaining that the cost of living would increase dramatically and the Brexiters said that would be a good thing because it would mean we’d eat less then and it would make us all healthier? Well I’ve lost half a stone over the last year or two through having to swap meat for lentils. So there’s that.

I am not entirely sure of the relevance of this inquiry after personal information.
