What's your favourite dessert?

Or whatever you call the sweet thing you have after your evening meal.

I've just decided that mine is creme brulee. I absolutely love it more than anything else.
Close second would be homemade trifle (pref. no jelly), or a really good tiramisu. I am also partial to Eton mess and chocolate mousse. But creme brulee wins every time.

What's yours?

Tarte tatin with top quality vanilla ice cream.

This is the correct answer

Lovemusic33 · 28/01/2023 19:19

It’s hard to chose as I have a sweet tooth and for me desert is the most important course.

Lemon roulade
Creme brûlée (had a pistachio version in a posh restaurant and it was amazing)
sticky toffee pudding

Also partial to a warm chocolate fudge cake with ice cream from a certain restaurant chain (the rest of their food is awful).

Cheesecake
Proper apple pie ( shortcrust pastry top and bottom, a couple of inches of solidish apples.) Cold with thick cream or warm with custard. Never ice cream!
Coffee cake no walnuts!!

FfeminyddCymraeg · 28/01/2023 19:30

A proper trifle (absolutely no jelly!)
Black forest gateau
Carrot cake

Shutupyoutart · 28/01/2023 19:37

I'm nearly drooling reading this thread op 😂 for me I love the old classics apple pie and custard (my grandma makes the best one ever and she always has one for me whenever I visit :)) also love sticky toffee pudding or a nice fruity cheesecake. I want dessert now.

BeyondMyWits · 28/01/2023 19:38

Trifle, with or without jelly, and/or sherry.

Benjispruce4 · 28/01/2023 19:39

Hedonism · 28/01/2023 19:43

All of the above, but actually usually a homemade fruit salad wins.

That often surprises me

Tessisme · 28/01/2023 19:44

Eton mess
Lemon meringue pie
Apple pie

Any or all of these will do me!

PermanentTemporary · 28/01/2023 19:46

Damson fool, as made by my mum.

I'm genuinely a big fan of fruit salad as well. Most underrated pud imo.

PollyRogerBubbles · 28/01/2023 19:47

Treacle sponge pudding in winter and Tiramisu or Eton Mess in the summer.

cassiatwenty · 28/01/2023 19:48

Tiramisu Cake

Rollingdownland · 28/01/2023 19:49

The Cote chocolate mousse

waltzingparrot · 28/01/2023 19:49

I always pick a Panna Cotta or a Lemon Posset on a menu.

rc22 · 28/01/2023 19:49

Homemade strawberry pavlova, cheesecake or apple crumble and custard.

scryingeyes · 28/01/2023 19:50

Cheesecake
Apple crumble with custard
Banana split
Banoffee pie

evtheria · 28/01/2023 19:50

Tiramisu or Bombe Alaska, if I see either on the menu I'll have picked them before even looking at starters.

BCBird · 28/01/2023 19:52

Apple crumble with sultanas and cinnamon and custard. Never make it abd on the odd occasion I have it when out,it is very disappointing.

immergeradeaus · 28/01/2023 19:56

Banana split

AdaColeman · 28/01/2023 19:57

immergeradeaus · 28/01/2023 19:56

Gypsy tart
Bread and butter pudding
Poires belle Hélène
Peach Melba
Sponge and custard
Banana split

Gypsy Tart makes you fart ( custard powder makes it louder) - with thanks to my Kentish roots for that one!

Crème Brûlée or Crema Catalana is of course the right answer, but speaking as someone who will buy ready made custard and eat it out of the tub, I've never met a dessert I didn't like. ( unless it had bananas in it)
