Adoption centres the child not the adults.

When there is no other option but to remove the child from its biological mother. When all avenues to support the mother child bond have been explored.

Children are not routinely removed from their mothers because another person might like a crack at raising them.

There is no reason to doubt that with all her money, she would have taken very good care of the woman carrying her child.

“the woman carrying her child”.
I think you misspelled “surrogate mother”.

How do you know there wasn't a medical heed?

Why should an article about her becoming a mum need to mention the whys and how that came about?

It is literally nobody's business!!

Everything that's wrong with society - people thinking they have a right to know every detail about other peoples lives.

With all due respect what medical need is there to buy a baby? Rent out the womb of a poorer woman?

It's everybody's business!

The buying and selling of babies is an awful industry.

Suprima · 25/01/2023 11:06

I think child centred surrogacy can definitely exist where there is a gentle transition; the baby can nurse from their birth mother for comfort and familiarity whilst building a bond with their genetic parents over a period of time.

But from the look of sleb instagram (and my own observations of mortals who have used surrogates)- this isn’t the case. It’s a purchase. And babies aren’t handbags or diamond tennis bracelets. We don’t even separate puppies from their mothers until they are 8 weeks old. But it’s fine to immediately remove a human baby? Khloe Kardashian took that baby from its mummy, left it with a nanny and was out having a meal 12 hours later. It’s sick.

I understand having to use a surrogate must be incredibly painful, a reminder that things didn’t work out as nature intended. But immediately taking that baby from the birth centre so you can have your baby is prioritising adult feelings- not the child’s.

From the Sun today......

The DJ opened up about her baby plans back in 2022.

Paris said at the time: "I'm getting tons of messages of people asking me about when I'm having a baby.

"The truth is. my husband and I wanted to enjoy our first year of marriage together as a couple and we were always planning on starting our family in 2023."

She added: "IVF is always a journey for everything but we're so fortunate that we have lots of healthy embryos ready and waiting to be part of our Cutesy Crew!

"As everyone knows I have an extremely busy work and travel schedule but nothing gets me more excited than becoming a mom in 2023!"

This is a fair point

Because in the case of adoption there’s no other choice!

babies aren’t taken away from mother’s for no good reason and put up for adoption.

How dense can you be?

Well of course there's a choice. How dense can you be??

It most certainly is

a longing for a baby doesn’t change the fact that surrogacy is buying a baby and hiring out another - normally more vulnerable and able to be induced or exploited - woman’s body.

There is no “medical need” to have a baby;
there is a biological urge to pro create or emotional longing for a child and that is it.

It makes me deeply uncomfortable to read some posts on here as if a right to privacy, fertility struggles or personal issues somehow justify the basically exploitative process of surrogacy. They don’t.

BlueBooh · 25/01/2023 11:16

OMG the poor wee baby. Is this definitely true?

Are you honestly saying that placing a child that would otherwise be murdered, neglected, raped or abused with someone who can keep it safe is the same as surrogacy?

Of course not that's dumb. Are you saying all adoptions are due to these reasons?

What I read mentions nothing about fertility issues etc so I stand corrected.

Off the top of my head I can think of many celebrities who've suddenly welcomed a baby, rebel Wilson, amber heard, khloe kardashian so it seemed like yet another had taken that option !

Rebel Wilson had a miscarriage and had IVF. You don't know their medical histories so don't speculate, comment or gossip.

She was pictured at Nobu within 24 hours.

Rebel Wilson was also at a birthday party two days later.

fertility issues and miscarriages don’t give you a hall pass for expedited surrogacy on your terms though do they…… oh hold on yes they do if you a millionaire celebrity.

this specific path t motherhood is literally paved with gold. Or money to be precise.

there is an actual human being at the centre of all of this. It is appalling.

Youwhatnowbiggles · 25/01/2023 11:29

It is illegal to sell organs, it should absolutely be illegal to sell a baby. We live in a very sick society😞

Lapland123 · 25/01/2023 11:32

Just horrible, buying a baby, buying the use of a poorer woman’s body.

Yes.

Sweetmotherofallthatisholyabov · 25/01/2023 11:34

@MrsMikeDrop theres next to no adoptions of newborns in the UK that are of a mother willingly giving up her child, most are due to ss involvement.

Having fertility problems doesn't give you the right to purchase a baby or to exploit a poorer woman.

Livpool · 25/01/2023 11:35

HikingHairDontCare · 25/01/2023 08:32

I think surrogacy is wrong regardless of the reasons. There’s never a reason good enough to rent a womb/buy a baby. Awful practice that should be banned everywhere like it is in many countries already.

No doubt there will be all sorts of tales to follow about how someone was a surrogate for their sister or something and the child is really happy, how the child wasn’t bought. 🙄 It’s still fucked up. Creating a child with the intention of taking it from their mother, the woman that carried them, isn’t ever about the child. Surrogacy is never about the child and always about want, want, want from adults.

Completely agree with this

As somebody who had had to go through ivf myself I do have alot of sympathy if that's the case

If you have experience then why are you so close minded? Surely you'd consider that Paris used a surrogate for medical or personal reasons? Surrogacy is legal and ethical, it's not taboo or a crime and she hasn't lied about it so why the fuss?

Twizbe · 25/01/2023 11:37

@Season0fTheWitch how is it ethical?
