Accidentally left oven on all night, guess how much it cost?

The bulb went in the oven a few weeks ago and keep forgetting to order a new one. I forgot to turn it off last night when I finished using it, walked into the hall kitchen this morning and it was like when you step out of the airport on holiday. Guess how much this cost me?

Melliphant, we cant fill the battery up overnight, from the solar, if its not sunny in the day We just had 2 completely grey cold days..I was doing the 90 minute saving electricity yesterday, from4.30 to 6 with Octopus, we turned everything off, fridge/freezer,TV lights, 5.55, the batteries took nearly 4kw from the grid to fill. I dont put washing machine on timer, wouldnt be happy with it not being watched.I either do it befrore bed at 10.30, or when I get up.

Well you know how usually people turn the oven off? The OP forgot and didn’t. I know it’s complex, but take some time to digest it and it will all make sense.

If it was a gas oven do you not have to wait for a reading till the next day ?. My gas is not registered on my smart meter till 12am i know from reading up about smart meters it works like that for a lot of other people too.

Mine has a half an hour delay. Not the following day.

I accidentally left my gas oven on gas mark 8 today for about 2 hours after I made tea so it was on about 2.5 hours in total and my smart meter says I’ve used £4 gas today. It can only be the oven as I’ve been at work all day. I’m horrified 🙈
