Please can we have a thread to show pictures of our favourite things in our houses?

We've had threads like this before and I love seeing what we all love.

I can't decide between 2 things so I'll cheat and add pics of both. The sideboard is much bigger than it looks and, sadly, I think I will have to sell it when I move. And the table was one of a pair, but ds sat on the other one and (unsurprisingly) it shattered into a million bits.

I love your sideboard op, also the lights under the plant shelf, the neutral living room and the bread bin.

Don't be fooled! I'm selling my house so it's currently looking as far from its usual untidy state as it's possible to look!

My house is a hell hole. Full of cheap furniture and half finished DIY. Just last week an internal door fell right off its hinges and is yet to be reattached. But this is probably my favourite thing at home (aside from the people)

Unfortunately not. He died 30 years ago in his mid forties, which is why it's even more precious to me.

This is by far my favourite thing. My dad made the table for my mum for her birthday. He’s now died and my mum has moved so I’ve inherited it.
The chairs have been upgraded since this photo was taken.

@CrazyBiscuits Yes I am the artist. The reason it's a favourite of mine is that by some stroke of artistic luck, it seems to capture the hustle and bustle of the tanneries where many families live and work side by side within their own small community. I can also feel the heat radiating off it.

@CrazyBiscuits I meant to add that it's my one and only painting since school (I'm 58 now) and it represents a breakthrough in what had been a mental barrier to starting painting for too many years. Mind you, I haven't done a second picture yet... hopefully not another 40 ish years.

During lockdown I bought a wood coloured flat packed shed, assembled it, and painted it blue. Then over the next two years I bought 4 more. Everyone who visits loves them. I can see them thru the living room, toilet, and kitchen windows, plus my bedroom looks down on them. I absolutely love them!

It's a beautiful pic, very atmospheric.

@oakleaffy - am very jealous, I always wanted a rocking horse as a kid. There is something about them that invokes a sense of wonder.

I need an adult rocking horse as could never afford a real horse!

Love this thread. I live in an old victorian house and we are due to have lots of work done next year.

This fireplace was mahogany and I really didn't like it. A few weeks again chalk painted it green and added a few plants and now I love it

A pencil drawing that my daughter had done for me of my pony Evie, an old apothecary cabinet that I keel bedding and keepsakes in , and an old pitcher and bowl. I love old pottery.
