Not including family and pets!

We've had threads like this before and I love seeing what we all love.

I can't decide between 2 things so I'll cheat and add pics of both. The sideboard is much bigger than it looks and, sadly, I think I will have to sell it when I move. And the table was one of a pair, but ds sat on the other one and (unsurprisingly) it shattered into a million bits.

My lovely fireplace bought on eBay for £25!

Excuse the balloons and banners this picture was taken when I came home from hospital with my baby boy.

I'm pleased to report there was no overnight break in and my sideboard is still in situ :).

There are some really beautiful things in our homes! @Oldraver am I sensing a mid-century/fifties type vibe in your house? I really like that look.

@Chelsea26 your friend's son is talented - even for a paint-by-numbers that looks good to me. Thank

@thenewaveragebear1983 That is the floor of my dreams! We're renovating and that's what we are aiming for. Absolutely stunning.

Nice idea for a thread and love your sideboard, OP! We have similar campaign style chests of drawers in our bedroom - such a classic yet versatile piece. Also love thenewwave's floor, what a fantastic surprise that must have been!

Two of my favourites are a Gustavian bureau (only half visible in the picture but too lazy to take a better one right now) that I inhereted from my grandmother and a 1960s Italian rattan and bamboo sideboard I picked up for 20 Euros a few years ago.

From the little details I can see from these pics, I am loving your interior style. You have v nice floors 😂

Fearnecuptea · 29/12/2022 17:29

My last post- that genuine btw, reading it back I sound abit sarcastic?! 🤷‍♀️

I hung some lights up on my plant shelf. Looked gloomy once the Christmas lights are down. They are currently my favourite thing.

I also have rabbit wallpaper and a large picture of duck I got for Christmas. They are also my favourite things.

Keep the lights. They're great, as is the shelf

I'm very fond of my dual aspect log burner. Two steps up to the room beyond which is why the door looks so tall!

You need a fan on top of that fire to blow some heat into the back room!

Gorgeous floor - what year was your house built?

JM10 · 29/12/2022 17:59

I'm jealous of the log burners. I live in a new build so I don't think one would suit our living room.

You're all making me question how many things in my house I love and I think I'm going to have to improve that next year!

DashingWhiteSergeant · 29/12/2022 18:04

I love the fire in my back room

Absolutely. I'll even throw in one of the dogs as a reward for their dedication :)

Oh well, if there is a dog in it, I'll start working out.

It’s currently been moved to the hall and has my husbands favourite thing on it, the Lemax village, so not looking her best 😂

Loving these and very jealous of that dreamy parquet! That must have been incredibly exciting to discover!

My first is a solid wood chest of drawers that I found outside someone's house with a 'take me' sign. I love the curved edges and weightiness of it. The owner says it was handmade (and I really should wax it...)

My second is an Edwardian fireplace with yellow flowers. Yellow is my favourite colour and this is the first thing I see when I wake up.

We think around 1955. We have the deeds for the sale of the land and then some planning applications, so we can narrow it down to a 3 or 4 year window. But yes, the floor was an exceptional find, it was buried under carpet, underlay, ceramic tile, and finally plywood and we only discovered it by chance.
