Please can we have a thread to show pictures of our favourite things in our houses?

Not including family and pets!

We've had threads like this before and I love seeing what we all love.

I can't decide between 2 things so I'll cheat and add pics of both. The sideboard is much bigger than it looks and, sadly, I think I will have to sell it when I move. And the table was one of a pair, but ds sat on the other one and (unsurprisingly) it shattered into a million bits.

Omg so many nice things! I love the parquet floor, the Gustavian cupboard ( in fact I'd liket to tour your house) Xmas Grin I love the stencilled bedroom - amazing! I'm not sure I can be arsed to get up & photograph my fav bits... #lazyarse

My favourite thing is my dining room fireplace, which was very well hidden when I moved in - thankfully my neighbours had theirs exposed, so I knew what to look for. And I had great builders who made it look beautiful.

I love my cosy living room, especially with the Christmas decorations. Just redecorated to go more neutral. I do want new curtains though - next job.

The very best things in our house are in winter when the sun is lower and sunlight hits:

  1. the (fake, I think) crystals on our ceiling light shade and then refracts to make little rainbows all over the room.
  2. the tiny bits of glass that are embedded in our kitchen worktop and makes little rainbows on the kitchen walls and floor.

Every year, when the rainbows appear, I am absolutely filled with joy despite it being autumn/winter.

My gas fire. Chimney has been removed here so I can't have a real fire unfortunately. Still love it even though I may as well burn £50 notes now. Also love the original shutters I have opened up. Can't be bothered to get up and photo them.

@Ofbollocks They just tend to get left on as the pain of a sticker that won’t come off cleanly is way worse than just letting them be. Though I’m tempted to go have a pick now.

Believers yes the MCM vibe has crept up on us. We really wanted a sideboard but too big for our house so we found a few bits of smaller stuff.

I also have a bit of technically modern furniture but fits in well with the old stuff. It's our stereo stand. It just makes me so happy. We had some disasters with the house this year, think water coming through ceilings, having to rip out boxing in bathrooms so it's nice to have something that pleased the eye. Oh and we finally got round to decorating DS's old room. OH insisted on keeping his pram that the cats love. So I can't covered it to match

My new duvet cover. Was a Christmas present and just put it on the bed tonight. I usually just have plain white but saw this and loved it.

Splonker it's a mural from Dunelm. I procrastinated for ages as it covers 3 metres and the spare room is 3.15, so would need to buy another 'set' for 15 cms 😲. In the end it was reduced but now they do different sizes

It was really good quality and easy to use. If you need to cover a wall of 2.5m you can have whats left
