Neighbours smoking marijuana in garden

We have new neighbours who appear to be very heavy marijuana users. They were outside smoking with umbrellas when it snowed and this is the third time they’ve been out today. I’ve had enough because the smell comes into our house even with the windows closed, principally my 7 year olds room and the kitchen. They also had a very loud party until 3 am at the weekend.

It is a normal residential street with mainly school age families and elderly people. The neighbour on the other side of them is in her 80s and has dementia. They must be working as the cost of housing is very high, but I’ve no idea how they can sustain a job given the amount of drugs?

I thought about popping over, but I’m nervous if it goes wrong they might be unpleasant. Would a community police officer come out to speak to them? I’ve never experienced something like this so grateful for advice on what to do.

I really think this whole culture of - if i dont like something i go to the police - is incredibly damaging to everyone involved. Mainly because the police dont want to waste time on petty neighborly disputes - but also because when the police do show up at your door it undermines you to your neighbors and leaves you vulnerable not only to the gossip of the curtain twitchers but also to more sinister people.

The conversation about a Midwife smoking cannabis when of shift. You don't seem to realise that it stays in your system for up to 3 weeks, alcohol doesn't. I have seen many employees fired at work because the are HGV Drivers and Fork Lift Drivers. If they are under the influence of drink or drugs from previous night then those vehicles are then classed as killing machines. Had to do many tests on staff over the years.

Just because it stays in your system longer it doesn't mean you are still stoned.
