To mark a special birthday.

What would you buy?

OP posts:
Enko · 14/12/2022 22:57

British citizenship. And a dinner out that would be about right

GridRock · 14/12/2022 23:08

2k won't get you a Rolex!

I'd go for a Hermes Nantucket

Boshi · 14/12/2022 23:16

Actually I would get a karl griesbaum singing bird box 😻

Greensky90 · 14/12/2022 23:27

@GridRock I know right (Rolex) for 2k we would all have one!

Mydogatemypurse · 14/12/2022 23:29

1/3 on new bed, 1/3 on repairs rest savings

BarrelOfOtters · 16/12/2022 10:50

Holiday - trip to Vienna probably.

Or a painting.

JamSandle · 16/12/2022 10:54

Most likely a trip somewhere.

Claricestarling1 · 16/12/2022 10:55

Something from Cartier 😍

GimmeBiscuits · 16/12/2022 10:56

Either a holiday, or a piece of Dale Chihuly glassware.

Buzzinwithbez · 16/12/2022 11:09

I love someone's idea of a retreat abroad. I'm wondering if it would get me a sauna for the bottom of the garden.

I can't think of anything else in that range that would feel like money well spent. I'm not really into designer stuff..

Tatapie · 16/12/2022 11:13

Diamond earrings or a spa / wellness holiday abroad on my own!

Shade17 · 16/12/2022 11:45

I’d put it towards a decent watch

Zipps · 16/12/2022 11:49

Jewelry or watch

Bluevelvetsofa · 16/12/2022 12:08

A little car, just for me. I hate sharing.

hennaoj · 16/12/2022 12:23

2nd Rough collie!

IncyWincyGrownUp · 16/12/2022 12:36

Either dentistry, or in a pot to go towards a car.

AfterEightMintyCedric · 16/12/2022 12:45

Spa day, botox and a nice ring.

Some foody treats if there was any left over.

AfterEightMintyCedric · 16/12/2022 12:46

GimmeBiscuits · 16/12/2022 10:56

Either a holiday, or a piece of Dale Chihuly glassware.

Don't know if you've got The Smithsonian channel but there was a great documentary about him on there the other night.

BabyFour2023 · 16/12/2022 12:47

Earrings.

GimmeBiscuits · 16/12/2022 12:48

AfterEight - I don't think I do. Have seen exhibitions of his work several times. No idea what I'd do with a piece if I had it - maybe a chandelier would be a good buy! :)

ghjklo · 16/12/2022 12:50

a month off work! to pursue my own passions.

crazeecatladee · 16/12/2022 12:55

Just had cataracts removed and replaced with lenses(obviously) but one is for long sight and one medium distance Brilliant. Need for glasses reduced. (NHS waiting list would have meant up to 2yrs wait!!)

Iamblossom · 16/12/2022 12:57

I bought myself a beautiful diamond ring for about that amount. Never regretted it,

InTheFutilityRoomEatingBiscuits · 16/12/2022 12:59

I’d definitely buy myself a new car. Something brightly coloured not like the boring black one we have now.

JaninaDuszejko · 16/12/2022 13:12

I would normally say art or a watch but in reality when I got an early inheritance I spent a similar amount to what the OP is talking about on vintage furniture. So I'm going to say a rosewood sideboard or reupholstering an antique chaise longue. DH would spend it on a holiday.
