It's 3am, why are you awake?

I was snoozing soundly when DS (5) came into my room coughing, sniffling and asking for a drink so I guess he's coming down with something. He's snoring beside me now but I'm wide awake.

So, why are the rest of you all up?

Oh wow thank you so much for that I've never really though of it as a disorder before! I just have to regularly live on 4/5 hours sleep luckily my shifts are all together so for the rest of the week I can catch up on sleep in my more normal to me pattern but if I had to do a regular 8-4 / 9-5 everyday I'd struggle and probabaly only feel like I've had one day off as I'd have to catch up on sleep somewhere

Well I managed to sleep until 4.30am which is a real treat for me! Feel very well rested. Day 1 of my interview went well so onto day 2! Just this morning and find out this evening! Think it was @Blocked who asked me to update!

The baby woke me up farting and I can’t get back to sleep.

Same. 4.30 is better but I do feel another fluey cold coming on. I've been ill constantly since August. I work in a school surrounded by 5 year olds and it's becoming obvious that lockdown has affected everyone's immunity. Normally I'd have one illness per school year. I think I'm on number 5 and we're not even half way through!

Also good luck with today's interview. The decent sleep will hopefully help

I’m in Canada, 7 hours behind the U.K., so it’s just coming up to 10pm here.

Had to get up and fill my hot water bottle. Feet are still freezing in bed. Can't sleep with cold feet. :(

@liveforsummer attendance of staff and pupils has been very illness ridden this term at my school. I’m still using that Vicks first defence when I wake up feeling snotty but I’m sure it will hit first day of the holidays and my own children will get the dregs of me!! 😂

I use covonia throat spray at the first hint of a sore throat. It does seem to work on that count but unfortunately they appear to have discontinued it and my supplies are running low 😬. Will try first defence too. The end of term is in sight so just hoping to get through now 😆

Another broken night from 4am, as all heating still kaput (and can't be fixed until next week. Aaaargh) and I'm in an old and draughty flat. Heated underblanket and thermals a Godsend. Am sporting an attractive bed socks/hat/fingerless gloves combination.

@liveforsummer Can heartily recommend Ultra Chloraseptic's Sore Throat Spray, if you get desperate. It contains benzocaine local anaesthetic, so numbs an agonising throat quickly.

I’ve been woken up by severe stomach ache. I think it’s stress related. I could cry.

My son was mugged on his way home tonight by 3 men. 😢
We've cancelled his cards and erased his phone and I've cleaned up his bloody face and dressed the wound, but now lying here thinking what else do we need to do?
Will call the police in the morning to report but DH didn't think it would help to call them now.

My son hasn't come home from being out. It's his birthday today. 18. I've messaged a few of this friends, he's not with them. Phone going to voicemail. I've driven by the club he was at and there is no-one outside. What do I do?

He'd been out with his friends drinking and then it took him a while to walk home as he couldn't remember our phone numbers, so he's crashed out asleep. Think it might hit him again tomorrow when he's sober.
