It's 3am, why are you awake?

I was snoozing soundly when DS (5) came into my room coughing, sniffling and asking for a drink so I guess he's coming down with something. He's snoring beside me now but I'm wide awake.

So, why are the rest of you all up? Star

I was awake when the dogs stirred so I came downstairs to let them out, had a cuppa now on the sofa with 3 dogs, 2 blankets and a cat.

MumofSpud · 08/12/2022 03:23

Bereavement insomnia (is that a thing?) I always wake at 3/4ish
Then I end up on my phone, which doesn't help!

Another with covid. Two weeks in and starting to feel worse again. Can’t sleep as ears and chest too sore.

Shingles. My pain killers wore off ten minutes ago

fairycakesandtea7 · 08/12/2022 03:25

Thanks it’s going to be a long day but excited by the opportunity!

I've also got Covid but it's 10.24pm here. This is the latest I've been awake since last Thursday.

Tested positive Sunday and have been in a world of fever pain since. Today however I turned a corner and had two imported steak bakes for dinner and a glass of wine whilst rewatching Santa Clarita Diet.

Hope you're all keeping as warm as possible, my mum said it's bitter there so I feel for you all.

Bootsandbooks · 08/12/2022 03:27

Thinking about whether to end or continue my relationship is keeping me up at night

KaftanKate · 08/12/2022 03:27

Woke up so cold that my nose and cheeks are without feeling, and I can see my own breath.

Heating packed up totally yesterday and realfeel temperature here in Oxfordshire is minus flipping 5!!

Debating whether I can be bothered to brave my Arctic kitchen to fill up hot water bottle yet again. And add another duvet to my mountainous pile of fleeces, eiderdowns, blankets etc.

Hope those ill feel better soon, you poor things. Flowers

KaftanKate · 08/12/2022 03:29

@MumofSpud, that's really hard. Sending you strength x

Magssss · 08/12/2022 03:34

Oh no Sad being really cold is on a par with toothache imo it's hard to concentrate on anything else

Noisy airbnb neighbours, no music just very loud animated conversation, whoever said Victorian properties have thick walls - it's a lie

I constantly wake up with a blocked nose. Tried all sorts of medication but nothing works. Saving up to get the carpet removed and replaced with wood flooring to see if that helps.

I don't meet the threshold for an ENT referral apparently.

Can you try an air purifier?

I just bought one due to snoring child and have just noticed that they've not done it since it's been on and they're sleeping with their mouth closed.

Thismummyrunstheshow · 08/12/2022 03:49

3 year old just woke up, think she's been starting to have unsettling dreams in recent weeks.

I'm full of covid and now can't get back to sleep

JustLyra · 08/12/2022 03:50

I have a dilemma over DD4 and an operation she’s due next week.

The hospital is under serious pressure so it may be cancelled, but they’ve said they’re really keen to try and get it done so it’ll be last resort.

However, there is an awful bug going around DD3’s school and DS2 says there’s a nasty cough going round the high school as well.

Both schools are very understanding and will support home working as best they can if we want to keep them home, but it could be for nothing if the op is cancelled. Plus I try as much as possible not to let DD4’s health interfere with the other kids’ schooling and having as normal a life as possible.

but if one of them does bring the bug home it’ll both endanger DD(something we all live with every day) and cancel the op.

Horrific SPD pain and a partner that’s gone awol on a work Christmas do. 🙄

Nowaynits · 08/12/2022 03:51

I have this horrible illness that's floating around that seems like a strep infection (I would say tonsillitis but I don't have any there anymore). Coughing all night and shivering. At least the children are improving!

Fedupmum21 · 08/12/2022 03:53

Pregnancy insomnia coupled with a UTI and an upset tummy from the cephalexin antibiotics my GP prescribed me. Just put the crown season five on and making a cuppa!

sazzy5 · 08/12/2022 03:54

Another with covid, I tested positive on Monday. Feel ok but have stomach pains tonight, assume it’s a covid side effect. DH is coughing and spluttering, still hasn’t tested positive though.
