Gather here all ye refugees from the foundering ship of JTT, if ye be in need of "How the heck do I format my post?" "Why can't I edit my typos?" "What do those acronyms mean?" and most importantly, "Where is everybody that I used to know?"

Or just to chat randomly.

And a sprinkling of good old-fashioned misogyny, from the default misogynistic position of wimmin getting their knickers in a twist over nothing, being difficult for difficult’s sake, demanding their rights and for their voices to be heard, whatever next. It makes people angry for some reason.

VaginaRegina · 29/11/2022 23:24

This is my mum with my brother's dog. She can't have one of her own because she's too crumbly, but I love the pleasure she gets from her youngest and hairiest grandchild.

Wonderful photo. He is indeed a hairy being.

Loving the colour co ordinated mug/dressing gown/sofa throw combo! Very stylish.

Does anyone here play Redecor? It would be a 5* design.

Dotellhimpike · 30/11/2022 00:09

Am sitting here in work, the 2nd of 7 12 hour night shifts in a row I am doing. I might be a husk of a man by this time next week, although I did manage to get myself frozen out of posting over there, so that feels like something productive at least.

CyanCyan · 30/11/2022 00:30

Oh well done. I did have a peek and the lifeboat appears to have all but capsized. And 7 12 hour night shifts?! How gruelling.

Splatterwack · 30/11/2022 06:52

Bloody hell Pike - MrSplatts is usually a broken man after just 3 12 hour shifts in a row - and he never does nights. Being bank only is great for picking the shifts he wants.

mach2 · 30/11/2022 06:56

Shouldn't have looked at a certain thread on the other place. "Bigoted scum" and don't "tolerate the intolerant". Lawls-style, I gave them lyrics - from The Jam Funeral Pyre:

As I was standing by the edge
I could see the faces of those who led, pissing themselves laughing
Their mad eyes bulged, their flushed faces said
The weak get crushed as the strong get stronger

Ginmonkeyagain · 30/11/2022 07:11

I don't.think BNBNs post was wise but I was astonished at the willful minsinterpretarion of the BBC story about tman who identified as a woman and has been found guilty of abusing a 14 year old girl and getting her pregnant.

It is true that whole groups should not be condemend by the behaviour of the worst in their commu nty, but that it NOT the issue that GC women have. The issue is under laws proposed in England and Wales and being enacted in Scotland, a man who sexually abused a 14 year old girl and made her pregnant could end up in the female estate becauae they self identify as a woman. THIS is the issue. Vulnerable women risk being locked up with male child abusers.

But instead of seeing and being oitraged by that, supposedly left wing, intelligent people wibble on aboit how sex and gender identity do not matter here and what about their lovely trans friends?

Well I have a trans woman friend who is one of the gentlest, nicest, bravest people I know. I share my life, house and bed with my male partner who I trust completely. It still does not mean I don't see the sheer danger and horror of legislation that could see male sex offenders housed in the female estate.

Jeez. You can see how the acronym GROLI came about.

AuxArmesCitoyens · 30/11/2022 07:17

Yeah the wafty handwaving on that is doing my head in. Down here in the real world, the rapist goes to a male or a female prison. I started to reply but deleted, what's the point?

Yeah, currently buying a house, need as much cash as I can get. I have a week's holiday next week, which will be packing. And joy of joys, I spilled a whole bottle of urine down my leg about four hours ago, which meant one leg stuck in a patient's bath while I hosed it off with the shower, thank god for quick drying Rohan clothes. Apart from all this I'm tickety boo.

So glad I can't post over there anymore, now I just need to stop looking.

Ginmonkeyagain · 30/11/2022 07:34

I know what you mean pike. It is deeply frustrating as it is like you are writing things in a different language.

Most people - men and trans women - are decent citizens who want to get on with their lives. But we cannot make policy on prisons and safeguarding based on the fact that nice middle class people have nice friends and would rather not think about difficult things.

That is how situations like Rotherham happened.

Splatterwack · 30/11/2022 07:39

Shouldn't women's rights discussions be on the other thread in the feminism boards, rather than here?

Ginmonkeyagain · 30/11/2022 07:42

Yeah probs. This was more a bitching about the other place discussion TBH.

Tricyrtis2022 · 30/11/2022 07:47

Thinking about how we were treated at the other place and then read this - www.mumsnet.com/talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/4688252-to-ignore-the-crying-woman-on-the-train

It makes me think of how differently people can react to another's distress. At the other place we were ignored or sneered at but there were some who, like those on the above thread, who offered support and comfort.

It also makes me think that I live in a world where some people seem to have been born without souls.

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · 30/11/2022 08:27

Elsewhere on the other place, some people who have declared they have no idea what the fuss is about because they never look at that thread have just discovered that Balenciaga's advertising might be A Bit Off.

I wonder where I might have read about that, quite some time ago.

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · 30/11/2022 08:42

If only we could do pics there.

I can understand it just passing people by. I pretty much posted on the thread of hate and girlfriend thread.

In a way I still miss bossab because he was around for so long and less annoying than the sea lions who are now saying "but the wrong people have left".

StephanieSuperpowers · 30/11/2022 08:51

You didn't read it anywhere good, that's all I know.

Tricyrtis2022 · 30/11/2022 08:55

What happened to bossab? I have wondered.

Tricyrtis2022 · 30/11/2022 08:56

"but the wrong people have left"

Do they mean the ones who left in support of the Bad People?

CyanCyan · 30/11/2022 08:57

Tricyrtis2022 · 30/11/2022 08:55

He died

Tricyrtis2022 · 30/11/2022 08:58

I'm sorry to hear that, Cyan.

Splatterwack · 30/11/2022 09:08

Bossab could be an absolute prick at times, but the way he was treated on his thread by a very few people (I'm thinking of one in particular) was horrible. I wonder sometimes if that person ever looks back and regrets some of the things he said.

CyanCyan · 30/11/2022 09:19

I agree splatt, it was awful. I don’t understand how you can kick someone when they’re scared and in so much pain, no matter how they’ve irked you in some stupid thread or other. As if it wasn’t an option to, you know, just not post on his thread.
