What do you love so much that you can't understand why others don't?

I hope that the thread title makes some sense.

I was having a chat about this with a friend who is a camping fanatic and who is genuinely puzzled as to why other people e.g me despise it. She's that passionate about it.

I have various interests that I enjoy but I can generally see why they don't appeal to some others but it made me wonder what do you love you so much that you can't understand why others don't share your passion?

Being alone. I really like some time to myself. DH has been out with friends today, and DS has been working so I have really enjoyed a day alone. DH kept suggesting i invite a friend round or go to see someone as he would hate it, and doesn't understand that I don't feel the same.
I also love cycling but I do understand why some people don't enjoy exercise in general, and why people can be nervous about riding a bike.

Music. I'm baffled by people who don't like any music

Reading in the bath. It is one of my greatest pleasures in life but all my friends would rather have a quick shower instead!

Peanut butter.

Also camping.

Oops pressed send too soon! I swim, run, Pilates and do weights - it's just part of my day but all my friends except for one don't get it. I love being fit and at my age (50) I think it's especially beneficial. Most of my friends roll their eyes and sigh "You're going to the gym AGAIN?" 🤔

Pickled onions.

Me too. I also exercise every day & although I would never say this, I can't understand why other people wouldn't enjoy it!

Running. It's my absolute passion. Especially marathons. As well as actually running, I love talking about it and reading about it.

Not watching crap tv and not knowing who all these c list Celebs are! Who cares!

Yes! This. And not only are all the same items in the same place, but all sorted by size. Such efficient shopping!

Audiobooks. Can’t understand why other readers don’t use this resource. I now read and listen to three times as many books as I did before. On 103 for this year and it is mainly down to listening during my day

Tea

It's revolting horrible stuff even if you add loads of sugar and milk.

The Arthur Ransome children's books. Everyone says "Oh, you mean Swallows and Amazons?" Well, yes, but also Winter Holiday and Pigeon Post and The Big Six and We Didn't Mean to Go To Sea and Peter Duck... and... and... and... I am 61 and have no plans to stop reading them ever

Turkish Delight, especially when covered in chocolate like the M&S bar or in Milk Tray type chocolates.

I used to love being at home by myself on my days off.
DH has retired now so it's shit☹️

I must be really agreeable as I also love most of these things aside from running (asthma) and car boot sales.

Music is a big one. If I couldn't listen to, watch and make music id feel like a major pleasure in life was missing.

I find I hard to understand people who don't like sex, sun, music and food either. Basic human pleasures. With exception of food, free. What a waste to not like those!

dd aged 19 and dh tease me about it. I just love all their music. Dh always laughs and says it’s like one man’s ramblings about how long it’s taken him to get over his ex 😆

Doing nothing. I do not understand people who need/like to be busy. I hate having plans.

Cleaning and organising my home.
I wish I could clean my house all day everyday but unfortunately I have a full time job.
Cleaning gives me so much satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment that I don't get from anything else. A messy wardrobe that needs totally organised is my idea of heaven and a perfect Sunday afternoon activity
