Secondary Cancer confirmed I dont know what to

Im numb. I went to the haemotolgist with a lump in my groin 5cm. He really thought it was lymphoma and was direct that it would be cancer. The biopsy was sent off a week ago. And hes just rang its mestatic. Its like a dream. I feel fine. Thats it for me isnt it? Im only 55 where could it be from?

Sadly no clarity on primary. He said the biopsy is p16 positive in my groin. It’s not upper. The Zpet scan showed it’s all in my groin but didn’t show the primary. They have never refered me for an MRI so he is doing that today I’m also being referred to gynae and colorectal. I’m still in limbo🙁 I don’t drive so I really don’t know what to do about going home for Xmas incase I get an appointment through.

So sorry you're going through this. I hope you get some answers quickly. I know the fear well as I've just had surgery for secondary cancer and the path ahead is still very uncertain. I'm also in Christmas limbo.

OP, I also found lumps on both side of my groin which turned out to be secondary cancer in my lymph nodes. I had chemo and radiation and 10 years later I’m fine. I know it’s terrifying, but the chances are very good that’s it treatable.

Well it’s been eventful at work this morning. Firstly I got a call to say I’ve been booked in for an MRI tomorrow. Then the colorectal secretary called to say I could pop down to see the consultant. He examined my back passage said no signs of any tumours and has referred me for a colonoscopy. However he said my cancer is viral driven so that counts bowel out. Which leaves me wondering about that one little ovary they left in me when they did my hysterectomy five years ago.

Hello. Even though you are still in the dark it looks like everything is now kicking into action which is good.

next time you have an appointment I suggest going with a list of questions. They won’t have the answers to all of them but in my experience with medical professionals it pays to be assertive.

Things are moving fast OP, I am so pleased for you. The waiting over Christmas with no news at all would have been awful... they are now fuling things out. I feel optomistic for you xxx

this past week ive had tubes and hands in every blinking hole in my body😃 colonoscopy showed nothing, gynacolgist couldnt feel anything but sent a smear off. I get the results from the mri on Wednesday. Its hiding somewhere😕 we know its viral and my oncologist said it should be below my waist. I go from being scared to ignoring it. Not sleeping well at all. I need something* to start happening.

p16 virally driven I think it means hpv but Ive had a full hysterectomy so I dont know. It responds well to chemo but Im guessing not without the primary.
