I'll start...

"My heart is full". Really? You just had a good gym session!

OP posts:
Skinnermarink · 10/11/2022 13:55

Haha my friend who posts a Google map picture of a random area of London and says ‘family day’ or ‘lunch’

WTF is the point, unless all the people she’s with are reported missing or fall in the Thames or something and we all have her last known location as Wagamama Southbank?

KnottyKnitting · 10/11/2022 13:41

Posts that have a picture of a cocktail with either " having a cheeky..." or " it would be rude not to..."

Pictures of a " gourmet buffet" which is basically a load of packets opened and chucked on plates. Yes we all do that but it doesn't really require a round of applause!

Weekly photos of a baby holding a sign saying " 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month, 2 months etc" on and on for years...

Pictures of a baby with the face hidden ( and no not safeguarding issue...) If you don't want your baby on Social Media then don't post bloody photos of them!

Any posts with the words bubba, mumma or hubby

Location posts from a garden centre cafe saying"out with mummy" Why do they think anyone is remotely interested?

People who post " safe" after some sort of disaster when they haven't been within 50 miles of where it happened.

Pictures of feet on a sun lounger on holiday.

It makes me wonder too. How self-centered people are, that they think someone might be interested in their rubbish? This content is more for family whatsapp group, not facebook (not that I like family chats- I'm in one of them and cringe at every picture of trip to Ikea or new pair of socks from my mum or sister).

peaceandove · 10/11/2022 15:12

Anything written by someone who clearly has only the most basic idea of how the English language works.

Essentially, just anything written by thick people.

NippyWoowoo · 10/11/2022 17:09

Anything with 'mama'

'You got this Mama!'

'I'm one proud Mama!'

'This is one tired mama'

It immediately conjures up images of a certain type of annoying person.

See also 'boy mom' 🤮

This might be more of a Twitter thing but I really hate the ‘Am I the only one who……..’ posts, usually things like ‘Am I the only one who has never watched I’m a Celeb / still wears a mask / goes to the library / thanks the bus driver.’

So annoying

Rife on Mumsnet

NippyWoowoo · 10/11/2022 17:13

Oh and the shared posts along the lines of

'If you need any help just pick up the phone and I'll be there'

'If you even need anything give me call and I'll drop everything and run to you'

I saw it play out on one person's page. She had just lost her partner unexpectedly and had to move. She was saying she was struggling with the packing and begging for help.

Every single person commented 'sorry, can't do it but you'll be fine!'

Lol.

My biggest hate is people who not only say how they had a fantastic parents' eve at school or amazing report but then put a picture of the report on Facebook for all to read. I know someone who does this and she is a teacher herself.

Kindofcrunchy · 10/11/2022 17:24

RambamThankyouMam · 07/11/2022 15:08

"My world" on a photo of some parsnip-legged gimp with Tommy Shelby hair, and a rheumy-eyed brat named Teddy or Arlo.

Harsh 😂

Kindofcrunchy · 10/11/2022 17:29

xogossipgirlxo · 10/11/2022 13:20

What is it supposed to mean?

The "core memory" thing is from that Disney film Inside Out, I think. Really bloody irritating!

I have a couple of teacher friends who post photos of thank you cards they've received from kids, usually with the caption "This makes it all worthwhile!".

Always find myself tempted to post my annual appraisal form from work with the same caption...

DarkKarmaIlama · 10/11/2022 17:58

@peaceandove

You have articulated my thoughts very well indeed 😂.

I love you so, so hard. The hardest ever. 🤷‍♀️wtf?

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 10/11/2022 18:17

The inevitable fucking 24 days of Elf on the motherfucking Shelf that will start on December 1st. This year I'm being ruthless and blocking anyone who mentions the little prick.

Elderflower14 · 10/11/2022 18:23

People selling stuff... "Need gone..." Drives me mad!!

I agree. Always hated it. People even do it for their adult children. Why??

DuesToTheDirt · 10/11/2022 19:13

Has anyone mentioned the shares of posts about missing cats from the other side of the world?

PennyPinkleton · 10/11/2022 19:33

@JustKeepSlimming a teacher friend I have on FB posted that a child told her that she was like Nanny McPhee as it’s when she needs her that she is there to help her. Yep, course she did 🙄

isthismylifenow · 10/11/2022 19:39

Just saw anorher one now..

To the person in X shop who let me jump the queue because I only had one item, blah blah blah

Why not just thank the person at the time.

Replies of, there are good people in the world etc etc

🤣

The ‘there’s still some good people in the world’ really show you how low we set the bar doesn’t it? I saw someone post about how they’d seen some cars stop for a dog that was wandering about in the road - loads of people were like ‘well done everyone nice to see there’s some good people left in the world’ and ‘not only heroes wear capes’ 😂😂 like deciding NOT to plough a car into an animal was an act of heroism.

GoldenCupidon · 11/11/2022 11:18

What does "boy mom" etc actually mean? Genuine question. I always picture the sort of radiant yet put upon "little women" who spends all her waking hours cooking and picking up after "the boys" (including her partner) and chugging the kids to rugby etc. Is there another meaning?

Asher33 · 11/11/2022 11:21

"Not all heroes wear capes"

Yes, see also "I see you Mama" along with some poetic words of wisdom.

Grown women referring to each other as 'baby girl'.
