DP and I have decided to get married early next year, which means we need to sort out an engagement ring fairly soon - I know we don't "need" to, but I have never had any nice jewellery and would like a nice shiny ring!

I think I'd like either a diamond or Sapphire ring, open to second hand/vintage. Not keen on a solitaire but clueless apart from that!

We have had a look in a couple of local high street shops and didn't find anything. Thinking of having a weekend away somewhere to look at rings: Birmimgham for the Jewellery Quarter, or London for Hatton Garden? Or somewhere else?!

If anyone has any good suggestions of where to go, let me know, and let us have a nose at your engagement rings and wedding bands : ).

These are mine. Engagement ring bought in an antique shop in Southampton, 32 years ago. Wedding band small indie jeweller in Southampton. Middle ring, on my pillow when I came out of hospital after having DS.

I had an awful marriage, and sold my wedding and engagement rings, didn't want them near me. My engagement ring was iolite and diamond, very striking, I used to get comments on it all the time.

Both from jewellery quarter over ten years apart 🤣

Chester has some great jewellers, both new and second hand/vintage. Mine were from Kaye's- it's a "heritage" ring so an old diamond in a new setting. It's a cushion cut which I love.

Simple solitaire half Caret diamond engagement ring, picked by husband. Second ring is an eternity ring, 1 carat white gold 3 rows of diamonds , husband also picked.

Wedding band at bottom is half cater diamond rows which we both picked

I love them I get constant compliments.

Mine is antique (1930s I think) with old cut diamonds, from the jewellery quarter in Birmingham. We had the wedding ring made to fit around it. They both need cleaning and re plating now, but I still love them.

My engagement ring is from the Diamond Store website as got engaged during lockdown.. it has a lab grown diamond which was important to me as much more ethical and environmental friendly. My wedding ring was bespoke by a jeweller called Daniel Darby, made from recycled gold

Ha! My engagement ring was from H Samuel I think, and my wedding ring from Amazon!
It really doesn't matter where they're from, it's the love and thought behind them that is important.

My wedding band is 1ct total in a 1/2 eternity setting ❤️☺️
