If you were naming children tomorrow, what names would you pick?

Following in from my “how quickly do names come back into fashion”, I thought it would be fun to say what names we would pick, together with our own age, as our own age and peers will have influenced choices.

I am in my fifties. If I was naming babies tomorrow, my girls would be Lydia and Penelope (Penny), and my boys would be Paul and Finn.

Hannah and Oscar

I really like Gabe and Martha

60s. I'd choose : Maria and Orla. Reuben and Zachary.

Mid 50s Absolutely love Olive ,Annie and Raphael

57 years old

Carla or Karolina

Matteo

Leo and Sid for boys
Rae and Edie for girls

Matilda, Nancy, Grace and Elliot

I’m 46 and don’t have children. I’d name a boy Alexander and a girl Isabella.

In my 50s. Patrick Elijah for a boy. Queenie Ruby for a girl.

Late forties.
Dawn or Juliet
Julian or Simon (Sy)

I'd have an Emma and a Daniel. I'm in my 50s.

Late 50. I’d have Gemma, Emma, Adam and Ian.

Late 40s
i have a daughter and two sons but if I were to have to pick names tomorrow

Inez or Carmen for a girl
Hal or Florian for a boy

40. I've learnt through having two of my own, that neutral names rock.

If I wasn't worried about future children finding their names too girly or manly, I'd go for ones like Angharad, Gruffudd, Dewi or Teigr.

Neutral names I like are Alix, Sam, Lin, Jamie.

Early 30s

Alice for a girl and Harry or Edward for a boy.

I’m 30’s
Matilda or Harriet (Hattie)
Ralph or Teddy

Most of the names people in their 40s like seem to be 70s or older names.

People in their 30s seem to pick the more modern names. I prefer these.

Mid 50s and I’d go for Cressida and Angus ( or possibly Julian ) .

I'd choose my kids names again but other than those ...

Harriet and Phoebe for girls

Fergus and Ruari for boys

Oh I'm 41

I’m 45

Cerys or Hannah
Adam or Martin

Tess and Guy
I liked these names when I had my kids 25+ years ago and still do.

Anita and Rufus. Both were on our list, but Edmund won (I still like it).
I’m in my 40’s.
